I'm gonna guess something to do with the illusion spell ritual quest, or Drevis Neloren.

There are several books you must collect
I'm not quit sure on the next two lines

The power being illusion magic meant to help hide the user, staying mysterious
Drevis Neloren gives you the Vision of the Tenth Eye spell so you can see the books

Drevis will give you a tome when you return the books
All the books and Drevis are found within the mages college

It's a little rough but hopefully it makes sense to more than just me:

Seen before
but now once more

1 Traveled for 5
then met 7
All seeking mistress/master
became close but then departed so as not to be doomed by association
For there was contempt between master and mistress
An argument heated
and ignited the flame
that made the 8 fewer the following day

The mistress the victor or so she had thought
til there were holes in her visage from revenge she had wrought
the 1 was guarding til she pushed the 1 out of the way
just to see that this was the last of her days
