This could mean they are outcasts or that it is a quest that is often missed or skipped

We house a mistress,
Mistress can mean either an extramarital partner, or a leader. Mistress is the feminine form of Master

who will get things done
The plural of "things" could mean that there are several situations that this person/place/thing helps the player to resolve
