I'm thinking Daedra Hearts. The alchemical properties fit, but I don't know where they come into a quest.

Ah , i believe the ''chest'' in question might be a human chest , so it must be heart
is it the Human Heart alchemical ingrediant ?
and im just guessing here , but does it have the alchemical effects of , Fear , Damage Stamina , Damage Magicka , Restore Health/Health regen ?

EDIT : Oh wait , i believe i am wrong , does not involve a quest , unfortunatley

and of course , i was wrong about the alchemical properties

Daedra heart is correct Tom. I used it's alchemical properties. And it's used in "the cursed tribe" and "coated in blood" quests.
