A rather off-topic suggestion: back when everyone was all over Oblivion, we used to have a nice little thread called Location Trivia, where people would post screenshots of the remote corners of the game world for the others to guess where the screenshot had been taken. It used to be quite fun.

Perhaps we could start up something similar in the Skyrim section. :?:

Bear in mind that this is not a screenshot contest; the main goal is to guess a location based on an image - so this means that all users can participate in such a thread.

I think that it would add interest to guessing if someone were to post a photo of their console screen, what with the quality and colours differing from what people are used to when they see screenshots. :wink:

Somehow, I can't help but think of Lathenil of Sunhold, but this can't be right, since he only appears as an author of books, not as an actual NPC. Other than that, I suppose it could be Runil, but that's stretching it a bit.

And random thought on the riddle: if we are talking about clans and the first line states that we may know the subject of the riddle by its lessers, this could imply that the things named in the riddle are remotely related to these clans or are their minor members - like the dogs Tiber and Ysgramor are only relatively members of Clan Cruel-Sea.

You're right in that this part of the clue has something to do with the Nightingales, but you are wrong as to who it leads you to.

Two brothers named, one for a king, one for a hero – Tiber, Ysgramor, already confirmed.

Once famous, three times struck, and twice a clan of three – I'm not sure if there are many answers in this one line. The three times struck line seems to refer to Calixto Corrium for his pastime (SPOILERS: The Shatter-Shield girl, Susanna and the Altmer horse woman). Once famous could refer to the once renowned soldier Galmar Stone-Fist or the beggar who used to be a soldier. Twice a clan of three? There are two clans in Windhelm, both have three family members.

One once a friend of songbirds, one the saddest wind - Songbirds? Possibly the Dunmer bard for studying at the College. The second part is most definitely Captain Lonely-Gale.

And a refugee from nobility - one who crossed Summerset - Probably Aventus and Niranye, alternatively the Priest/ess couple that worships Talos.

Once famous / Three times struck - Actually, these are probably more obvious than you thought. Galmer Stonefist would have been a good candidate, but I was looking for Angrenor Once-Honoured. Likewise, Calixto was great reasoning, but I was looking for Ysarald Thrice-Pierced

Twice a clan of three - you got this. Clan Shatter Shield and Clan Cruel Sea

Once a friend of songbirds - This was Niranye, who was a member of the Nightingales
