Larawen, Bosmeri assassin, did some alchemy and slept at the Sanctuary. The next morning, she left for Volunruud. Approaching Helgen, Larawen ran into some Companions (Athis, Farkas, and Torvar. Maybe they were on their way to my main character's wedding? Nah, that's still over a year away. They turned around and went south, anyway). Larawen slipped through Helgen, sniping a couple of bandits that were in the way, but not bothering with the others. Larawen has bigger fish to fry. She continued to Nilheim for the night. The trip was uneventful but it started raining and it rained all night. Old Nilheim is leaky. Maybe that's why Larawen hasn't seen any more bandits try to take shelter there. Larawen doesn't mind the leaks, and the ever-burning campfire is a nice amenity.

She traveled to Riften the next morning and the trip was, again, uneventful (I fast traveled to Merryfair Farm - I don't use fast travel much, but was a little pressed for time and looking for a stopping point). Outside the gate to Riften, Larawen traded with the Khajiit, then all Oblivion broke loose. A dragon attacked, along with a frostbite spider and a bear. Guards, Khajiit, horses, and Shadr the stablehand all joined the fray. The enemies were weak, fortunately, and none of the good guys were harmed. Larawen absorbed the dragon soul to much astonishment. She is quite the imposter Dovahkiin (I have a bit of made up lore to explain how she, a non-Dragonborn, can absorb dragon souls but it's outside the scope of this thread).

Larawen traded in Riften, exchanged some ice wraith teeth to Marise Aravel for some tasty pheasant breasts, and agreed to try to remember to pick up an ore sample in Shor's Stone for Hafjorg on her way back, if she comes through that way. Then she ate lunch at the Bee and Barb.

Short version (plagiarizing Snail's Pace's format a little more):
Marilyn (II), Bosmer archer, Guild Master and Listener, took Serana home, then closed her eyes and thought of England.

Long version (hidden for wall of text and Dawnguard spoiler at the end):

Hidden:
Marilyn (II), Bosmer archer, Guild Master and Listener to the Night Mother, and Serana, Nord vampire, spent the last few days traveling from Riften northwards and westwards to Serana's home, stopping at Windhelm, Dawnstar, Morthal and Volskygge; on their way they
- fought two dragons on the volcanic tundra, one fiery one frosty, and Marilyn was totally gobsmacked when Serana charged one of the wyrms passionately shouting, "You shall not touch her!" What a way to learn that a budding affection which you haven't even quite admitted to yourself is, apparently, being more than reciprocated!

- explored a Dwarven storeroom near the ruins of Mzulft in search of an aetherium shard which Katria had speculated might be found there, and found it guarded by an Enchanted Sphere, two normal spheres and half a dozen spiders. When the animunculi had been reduced to so much scrap metal they disovered that the room had been so heavily guarded because it contained not only a shard of aetherium but an entire Dwemer cuirass enhanced with the precious blue crystal and imbued with powerful enchantments (added by Requiem); it's much too heavy for Marilyn to use, but she 's sure Calcelmo in Markarth will pay her a sizable sum for such a rarity.

- were just setting out from Windhelm (at night, to spare Serana's delicate skin) when the stables were attacked by another dragon, and of course it had to start snowing heavily about one minute into the fight. Mari was grateful for her alchemically induced night vision (another Requiem thing) as well as for Serana's ability to take a lot more of a beating than her air of vulnerability suggests.

- helped 3DNPC S'vashni defeat the ghost of her blades teacher and watched her fail once more in her attempt to comprehend the true meaning of the Stance of Arkay (which Mari suspects to be "accept death when inevitable and turn it into triumph"). Watching S'vashni fumble around in the snow in a last desparate attempt to find a hitten pattern in her master's actions was a much better revenge for her past insults than merely killing her would have been... for a while, until Mari lost patience with her and ended the Khajiit's futile existence. She took two fine swords from S'vashni's corpse which she may enchant for herself some day.

- paid a visit to 3DNPC Jasper Gaerston in Dawnstar and collected his rewritten novel to take to the publisher. Mari is a bit miffed because he gave her name to the protagonist (at her suggestion) but didn't change the fact that the protagonist is an acrophobic Orc.

- spent two nights at the Dawnstar sanctuary, where Marilyn gathered all her courage and invited Serana to share the Listener's bedroom, no guard being deemed necessary. Nothing interesting happened though, leaving Mari puzzled whether she has misread the signs or whether Serana is holding back for some other reason... maybe the vampire doesn't trust herself to restrain her, um, appetite in a moment of passion? If only the woman were a little more open about her feelings!

- assassinated an itinerate lumberjack in Morthal, although Mari could have sworn she had already killed the same guy a few months ago; maybe twins working in the same profession?

- camped in the ancient barrow of Volskygge after clearing it of bandits and draugr. Mari caught a few hours of sleep, whereas Serana refused to use the spare bedroll stating "I can't do everything for you". Either she doesn't sleep at all or maybe she needs a coffin to sleep in? That would be impractical to lug around, see Cicero's example at Loreius farm...

- reached Castle Volkihar at last. Without the mutual trust that had grown between herself and Serana during their journey together Marilyn wouldn't have dared to set foot into the Keep, but she relied on Serana to ensure safe conduct for her, and so she came to meet Lord Harkon. Seeing and hearing how coldly he welcomed his long-lost daughter home she instantly recognized him for what he was – the kind of person who cares for nothing but power and domination, a true follower of Molag Bal; and remembering poor Meeko, slain in Dimhollow Crypt by Harkon's thugs, she swore she'd bring him down – not in the name of the Divines, like Among-the-Hist would, but in the name of love and passion.

But when Harkon offered her his blood in reward for Serana's rescue, and thus an escape from mortality and her debt to Nocturnal which she had long sought for, it occurred to her that it would suit her much better to work against him from the inside by guile and cunning, like Mercer and Astrid had taught her, rather than wage an outright crusade like Isran. She still hesitated because she was aware that the gift would come at a price, not to mention her revulsion at letting a male do something as intimate to her, but she realized that refusing Harkon's offer would probably end in her being kicked out of the castle and forfeiting any chance of getting closer to Serana – and so she told herself "Close your eyes and think of England" and suffered him to bite her.

Malandor, bosmer assassin:
- Mounted Shadowmere and headed out to kill the Gourmet.
- No one saw him come or go when he killed Gourmet, ate Gourmet and hid what was left of him.
- He then returned to Brotherhood's Sanctuary for his reward and next mission.
- After leaving the Sanctuary, his next stop was Morthal, where Jarl hired him to investigate housefire. Which turned into a murder investigation and vampire hunt. Left him outside Morvath's Lair.

Faldlen, a Bosmer adventurer, was quite busy yesterday.

He was hunting around Riverwood when he stumbled upon the town. He liked the place, and eventually helped them out by taking out some near-by bandits. This gave him a thirst for more "adventuring" and less "hunting," even though they're kind of the same thing in the end. After staying in the village for a while, his wanderlust grabbed hold of him again and wander he did, all the way to Markarth somehow. He stood and marveled the city made of stone before entering. There was a little scuffle with a "Forsworn" just inside the the gate, but after settling it down with his trusty greatsword, he went to the inn and relaxed with a little flute play.

Theodore Savignon, breton alchemist:
- visited Whiterun, met the Jarl, delivered frost salts and slept a night in Bannered Mare
- Then he just wandered around the plains of Whiterun, picking flowers and chasing butterflies. His ingredient gathering was occasionally interupted by bandits, wild life and skeletons. He encountered a peddler too. He's also stumbled into amazing amount of chests just lying around (okay, the one in Hamvir's Rest and the ones outside Volenruud weren't actually laying around). And Sabrecats are real challenge when the strongests weapons you have are flames-spell and steel dagger (summoned wolf didn't last a second against the big cat). Heck, even the mudcrabs nearly killed him.

Marilyn (II), Bosmer archer, Guild Master and Listener turned vampire hunter turned vampire,
- was instructed in the use of her new power by Lord Harkon, then received orders for her first mission as a member of the Volkihar clan from Garan Marethi;
- left Castle Volkihar without Serana, who said she wanted to be alone for a while to get her feelings sorted; Mari is ok with that as she'll need some time herself to come to terms with this rather momentous change in her life (if such it can still be called);
- tried her new powers on the bandit squatters of Fort Hraggstad and some mages who had resettled Wolfskull Cave;
- spent a few days/nights in Solitude trading and crafting, recharged the Skull of Corruption with dreams (the guards' quarters in Castle Dour are great for that, so many sleepers in one place!) and bit a neck or two; she learned that she'd better restrict her feeding to strong men and women of good health, as weak mortals are all too easily sucked dry and die (feeding does 100 hp damage to the victim in Requiem; makes undeath a little trickier).
- travelled across the Reach from Dragonbridge, feeding on Forsworn where they crossed her way, and has just arrived in Markarth where she sold that Aetherium cuirass (see last post) to Calcelmo for 6000-something septim. Her next intermediate goal will be to collect the raw materials for crafting a few Blood-Conserving Phials so she can keep a stock of the precious life-juice with her for emergencies, blood and life-drain now being her only means to restore her health.

Larawen, Bosmeri assassin:
1. Pondered free will in the midst of taking an unnecessarily circuitous route from Falkreath to Volunruud
2. Met Amaund Motierre and is beginning to realize her purpose in Skyrim.
3. Went against her player's wishes by refusing to help some Stormcloaks or to rescue a Talos worshiper. Apparently, her agenda and her player's do not totally overlap.
4. Reported back to Astrid and got another task from her beleaguered leader.

Long version. Contains spoilers for "The Silence Has Been Broken".
Spoiler:
Larawen, Bosmeri assassin, took a roundabout way from the Falkreath Sanctuary to Volunruud by going through Riften because her player hadn't bothered to look at the map and thought Volunruud was somewhere in eastern Skyrim. Upon looking at the map inside the Bee and Barb, Larawen must have wondered what she was doing in Riften given that Volunruud is back the other way. So she went back to Nilheim for the night and pondered free will by the campfire.

The next morning, she trekked to Volunruud. The trip was uneventful and she merely had to calm a few animals along the way. But she discovered a couple of areas her player had not seen before: What appeared to be a Dragonwall (Shearpoint, according to the wiki), though she didn't actually enter the area (maybe later), and Volunruud itself.

Larawen sneaked around inside Volunruud, alternately casting Detect Life and Detect Dead. She wondered what kind of person would choose to have a meeting inside a draugr-infested crypt. She soon found out: A person like Amaund Motierre would. She remained silent upon his introduction, but couldn't resist speaking with him on on a few other things after realizing that some very serious business was afoot.

Has she finally found her real purpose in Skyrim? Is this why her mysterious benefactor (me) sent her as his agent? Larawen told Motierre that empires rise and fall, but business is business, perhaps suspecting (correctly) that her benefactor has no fondness for the Mede dynasty. Motierre gave her some items for delivery to Astrid and Larawen slipped out of Volunruud, leaving the undead undead. However, she found a journal on the way out and might return to this place at a later time.

Larawen went to Whiterun for the night. On the way, she observed some Thalmor Justiciars fighting some Stormcloaks. She did not intervene, and sadly, the Thalmor won. She steered clear of the Thalmor since she is on Alinor's Most Wanted list. The next morning on the way to the Sanctuary, she saw some Imperial soldiers pass another group of Thalmor leading a Talos worshipper, and the boys in bronze didn't lift a finger to help him. But then again, neither did Larawen. What's with this character? My other character always tries to rescue them.

At Half-Moon Mill, Larawen played the role of itinerant hunter again, chopping wood for Hert, the remaining lumberjack. Neither woman spoke of the fate of the Hert's husband. Hert didn't seem to suspect a thing.

At the Falkreath Sanctuary, Larawen delivered Motierre's sealed letter to Astrid and explained what she knew. Astrid told Larawen to go back to Riften to meet with that fellow Delvin Mallory regarding the amulet. Fortunately, her player already knows where Riften is.

Malandor, bosmer assassin:
- solved Morthal's vampire problem, with few well placed arrows.
- got his reward and bought a plot of land.
- next stop, Solitude. After some loot selling and night in Winking Skeever, he put on chef's tunic and hat and posed as Gourmet.
- Well, that went well...not. Poisoned the guy alright but
Hidden:
he wasn't real Emperor
.
- to shook off pursuers, Malandor took roundabout route to Brotherhood's Sanctuary (via Windstad manor and Falkreanth)
- next he killed lot of Maro's men and got wayyy to close with The Nightmother.
- he build small house to Windsted Manor and then headed to swim in cold waters to Katariah.
Hidden:
Malandor met the Emperor and killed him

- next, to Solitude, sell loot and take care of Commander Maro.
- Armand Motierre was next on his list of thing to do and people to kill. After fetching the reward, he headed to Dawstar to check his remainind Family.

And I've completed the Dark brotherhood's main quest line for the first time, yay!

- Malandor picked next missions from Mother and Nazir. Mounted Shadowmere, after meeting Cicero and rode to Riften.

********************************************************************************************
mon 29th of september

Myriah, redguard girl:
- Escaped from Helgen with Ralof and spent some time in Riverwood.
- She then sneaked thru Bleak Falls barrow, getting rather good at sneak attacking sleeping draugr.
- returned to Riverwood with Golden Claw and helped Faendal to woo Camilla. Took him with her.
- Headed out to Whiterun...in otherwords, the usual starting a game with new character- stuff. Not very interesting on umpteeth time.

Finally managed to nudge a character beyond the "goody two-shoes" type of morality I usually play and joined the Thieves Guild for the first time ever. Enjoying it so far.

I just might send my current character into the Dark Brotherhood as well. I've decided I've been depriving myself of the "complete" Skyrim experience for far too long.

Myriah, redguard thief
- killed her very first dragon, or at least had a hand in killing it. She basically just shot lot of arrows from the door of the watch tower.

Auri Leafblade, bosmer warrior and Rayya:
- cleared Halted Stream Camp, hauled lot of iron ore back to Whiterun. Reported back to Farkas.
- Went to Falkreanth and bought land. Went to check her new property.

Larawen, Bosmeri assassin, began the trek to Riften to meet the jewelry appraiser Delvin Mallory. In Falkreath Hold, she stumbled upon a necro vs. bear fight. She killed the necro and calmed the bear. She spent the night in Riverwood and started again before dawn. Along the White River road, Larawen saw a way to potentially bypass Valtheim Towers, so she took a side route, discovering the Whiterun Stormcloak Camp. She continued up the mountain trail and eventually descended to near Lost Knife Hideout. She killed a flame atronach that had possibly killed its summoner, whose body was nearby. Then it was on to Shor's Stone, where she picked up the ore sample for Hafjorg. It was overcast and drizzling rain as she hiked to Riften. There, she traded a bit and delivered the ore sample. In the Ragged Flagon, Larawen persuaded Dirge to give her a Black-Briar Mead "on the house", which she drank while she met with Delvin. An Elder Council amulet? Interesting. In exchange for the amulet, Delvin gave Larawen a letter of credit for 15,000 septims to give to Astrid and sent his regards.

(Before that session, I had never seen the Whiterun Stormcloak Camp or followed the path connecting the area to the other side on the Throat of the World. And there appears to be more of that area I still haven't explored.)

This time I chose an alternate start that left me next to the Cyrodiil border with literally nothing except the clothes on my back. I then used the console to give myself a 1001 bounty in the Rift for RP reasons.

Took a week (in-game time) to scrape up 1001 septims. During that time Esther killed dozens of wolves, cleared several bandit camps and discovered three mysterious, chanting walls guarded by skeletons and necromancers. Her most notable achievement was leading a Frost Troll to Stendarr's Beacon, where it killed all of the Vigilants living there.
After finally being able to clear her name she decided to investigate a nearby Nordic ruin that seemed to have another chanting wall; it was visible from the necromancer-guarded wall.
Later on she found yet another wall, in the middle of the volcanic area of Eastmarch. Again guarded by skeletons.
Off the northeastern coast she searched for shipwrecks, as she was trying to find a clue about Brand-Shei's past. The first wreck she found was just another bandit camp, but the second one was The Shipwreck (also a bandit camp). There was a dragon circling around near the second shipwreck, but thankfully it didn't attack.

On her way back south Esther was attacked by two dragons (I'm not sure who or what aggroed them; couldn't have been me), and galloped straight to Windhelm docks. Fortune smiled on her again, as the dragons did not follow.

After returning to Brand-Shei Esther headed north again, as she had found Meridia's Beacon in a chest in Steamcrag Camp. She isn't too fond of Daedra or the Daedric Princes, but doesn't think it's a good idea to ignore direct orders from them. Besides, Meridia isn't exactly evil, unlike some of the other Princes.

On the way she made a quick detour to Fort Kastav to clear it out, and after that came across a Stormcloak patrol vs. Imperial patrol battle. Being none too fond of Imperials (she's ex-Legion herself), she decided it would be a great idea to play "Age of Oppression" as a show of support to the Stormcloaks. What she didn't know (but I did) was that any Imperials would attack her if she played that song in their presence. Wasn't a problem at that point, though; the remaining three Imps were low on health.

Even later, up in the Pale, Esther got to watch a highly amusing battle. A dragon felt that a Whiterun guard and the Whiterun Legate (execute your outlaws in your own hold!) were invading its personal space, and attacked them. A nearby Imperial patrol (heh, again) decided to join in, only to get eaten by the dragon. The guard and the Legate were essential, so they kept getting fried over and over again. Esther (and I) had a great time watching it all unfold.
Eventually (after around 15 real minutes) it was time to continue towards Haafingar... but unfortunately the dragon then decided that Esther needed to die as well. This started a 45-minute battle between the dragon, Esther, the Whiterun guard + Legate, two Stormcloak patrols and the bandits camped at Mzinchaleft.

After the dragon finally died (someone shot it straight out of the air; that never gets old) something even more mysterious and peculiar than those chanting walls happened. The Stormcloaks who weren't fighting the guard + Legate duo were quick to jump to conclusions... Esther herself didn't know what to think.

Marilyn (II), Bosmer archer, Guild Master, Listener and fledgling vampire,
- picked up another follower at the Dawnstar Sanctuary (from the same mod as the last two), this time a witch by the name of Flemeth. I don't remember Mari ever traveling with another Bosmer before; the two got along so famously that Mari decided to pass her gift on to Flemeth, who now sports a pair of cool glowing eyes and looks great with them.
- cleared the ruins of Raldbthar (again) looking for another aetherium shard and ran into the Glowing Crystal Shard bug which means she won't be able to complete Lost to the Ages now. There are moments when I hate you, Bethesda. (RP-wise, I suppose the shard had been taken away by another adventurer coming before her; sorry, Katria...)
- mined lots of malachite from the mine at Kynesgrove and made several Blood Conserving Phials so she can preserve a snack for an hour of hunger (think of it as the vampire version of tupperware).
- persuaded the mages at Cragwallow Slope to donate blood to fill her phials (most of them had to be persuaded by death).
- stopped at Riften to say hello to the Guild and store some valuables in Honeyside.
- cleared Redwater Den and filled the Bloodstone Chalice.

I got with my new character Ricimer Dufont to High Hrothgar, accompanied by Lydia. Before reaching there the duo cleared Valtheim Towers in a rather brutal fight that involved sniping duels, use of poison and melee. On the way I admired the scenery which my new (well, newly bought secondhand) computer provided. The rig is beefier than my previous one, so I could pump the graphics up a bit and dispense with a performance mod. Most I liked the fact, however, that there was not a single freeze as with my previous PC. Not a single one, even though I passed through multiple places where a freeze has been near guaranteed in the first visit. Instead, gameplay was silky smooth. I have yet to go to the most freeze-happy area (the volcanic wasteland) but the second-worst offender Ivarstead offered no problems.

After the lesson with the Greybeards, our intrepid adventurers returned to Ivarstead. There they heard about the barrow, and Ricimer decided to investigate. They killed Wyndelius and then a bunch of undead while clearing the rest of the place. After that they went to hunt bears in the environs of Ivarstead, to get Temba some pelts. When they had cleared Honeystrand Cave, they returned to Ivarstead as it was already dark.

But just by the bridge a dragon attacked! It was a long fight, as Ricimer could aim rather poorly in the shimmering light of auroras. Lydia was rather foolhardy, since after the dragon had landed, she parked her butt squarely in front of it and hacked away with her sword, even though the beast showered her with ice. The dragon did two or three guards in, but was defeated in the end. I had to laugh when Lydia just yawned, as she looked Rcicmer absorbing the dragon soul.

Then Ricimer and Lydia called it a day and camped on the hill next to the village. Next morning they went on towards Whiterun, and fought a troll and a wispmother on the way. In Whiterun I finally realized Amazing Followers Tweaks lets you configure city and home outfits for your followers, in addition to combat gear. So, I gave Lydia some civvies, which she promptly put on. I also gave her a circlet looted from Valtheim bandits as a bonus for handling herself so well in that scuffle. I have to say that Lydia looks surprisingly fetching in her civvy outfit.

Then Ricimer bought Breezehome with all available decorations. When that was done, it was night already. So he got Lydia home and dismissed her. She yawned (she seems to do that a lot) and went straight to bed, but Ricimer stayed up to brew potions for some time. Next morning he was up and about early, and after some selling of potions he was on his way to the gates, ready to start the journey to Ustengrav.

Fought three more dragons, one of them solo (took ages). Unlocked Aura Whisper, Become Ethereal and Disarm (just going to unlock in alphabetical order), have four or five more Words from various exterior Word Walls to unlock. Still have absolutely no reason to go to Helgen or Whiterun; MQ remains unstarted.

Happened to bump into Jarl Korir in the Frozen Hearth, and decided to ask whether he had any work available. Funnily enough I'd just been thinking about the Helm of Winterhold quest and it being notorious for conflicting with "Purity of Revenge"... you see, I had never, ever had been sent to Driftshade to retrieve the helm. You can probably guess what location I got this time... :wat:
Damn Silver Hand were (a lot) higher level than me - and several of them had crossbows.
I also went looking for Spooky Skeletons (it was Tales and Tallows night), but instead found a Confused Lunatic who transformed into a werewolf. During the ensuing battle, which took place at Whistling Mine, I accidentally hit the Winterhold guard who patrols the area. It happened so fast that I barely caught the bounty message, followed by "The Stormcloaks pay blood for blood!". Sorry.

Also played quite a few songs at various inns. Aggroed a few Imperials by playing "Age of Oppression".

Decided against collecting the pieces of a certain dagger... and while I was in Dawnstar, killed a Giant for Jarl Skald. The local Stormcloak commander made some very good points regarding the war and the reasons behind it.

Oh, and I saw Whiterun guards in Hjaalmarch (executing an outlaw, as usual). Those guys really need to learn where the borders of Whiterun hold are.

I've been playing but not posting, so let's see if I remember everything.

Myriah, female redguard:

- Returned to Whiterun, sent Faendal home, reported to Jarl, got Thaned, took Lydia with her.
- sold loot, talked with various people in Whiterun.
- Headed out towards Ivarstead, via Riverwood, Helgen and Orphan Rock. Killed bandits at Helgen. Got Nettlebane for Danica and the Hagraven was really diffucult for low level char. Spent a night in Falkreanth Stormcloak camp. Continued in the morning.
- After Haemar's Shame, found lone horse. She stole it. Literally rode to Ivarstead with wolves nipping at her heels. (or the horse's heels.)

Licinia Selvanis, imperial battlemage:

- Explored Fort Dawnguard after getting a mission. Returned to Riften, but didn't even get inside when a dragon attacked.
Licinia, guards and _the horses_ attacked the dragon and chased it all the way to Merryfair Farm where it got killed.
- Brawled with Hofgrir Horse-Crusher
- Finally managed to get into the town and sold loot.
- She then borrowed a horse from the stable and headed north ward. The horse didn't last long, killed by bear.
-Foot soldier again, Licinia wandered nortward, found Atronach stone and took it as birthstone (and discovered later she can't summon flame atronach anymore. Summoning bound sword does work). She also stumbled to a dragon attacking two bandits....that battle took her all the way up to Bonestrewn Crest, before she managed to kill the dragon. Got word for Frost Breath Shout and soul to unlock it too.
- after more bears and way too many wolves, she was glad to find Kynesgrove, where she rested the night.
- When she stepped out of the Inn in the morning, she ran into master vampire and a thrall. I mean, seriously, in Kynesgrove?
- Eventually she made it to Windhelm. Sold loot. Delivered Balgruuf's axe to Jarl Ulfric (or more like, didn't deliver). Then she rushed back to Whiterun.
- Defended Whiterun against attack. Then she headed to Solitude and reported to General Tullius. Next stop, Pale. Still a foot soldier, although now promoted, she headed to the swamp land east of Solitude. Played zap with mudcrabs (zap, you're dead). Found Folguthur, explored Folguthur and got Gauldur Blackblade and the amulet fragment.
- Somehow found herself in Stonehills. Then she got totally lost, found Frostmere Crypt and helped Eisa to defeat bandits. Didn't enter because she's already carrying loot up to her eyes. Found what was left of Hall of Vigilant. In other words, she was all over the place except where she was supposed to go.

Milad Winter, nord spellsword and stormcloak officer:
- Spent some time in Riften, selling loot and crafting. Stopped by in Heljarchen Hall to empty her inventory and sent away Iona.
- She returned to the College of Winterhold and all hell broke loose. Arch-mage was killed, magical anomalies on the loose. With Faralda and Arniel, she went to deal with them and got some unexpected help...from a elder dragon. Ranmir picked up a wrong time to go for a drink and was caught in a cross fire. After the anomalies were killed, the dragon just went off. Strange.
- Back in College, Mirabelle gave her some items and sent her to Labyrinthian. As she left the College, she ran into two more magic anomalies.
- She passed Morthal on her way to Labyrinthian. And quess who she ran into in Labyrinthian (besides the usual frost trolls)? Gregor, Steward of Heljarchen Hall. What the heck was he doing there, when he was supposed to take care of her property? She told Gregor to follow her.
- Solved Shalidor's Maze. That was fun. Again loaded with loot, she stopped by in Heljarchen Hall to unload and left Gregor there. Back to Labyrinthian, only now there was dragon. After that was killed, she went back to Heljarchen Hall to drop the bones to her smithing chest outside the Hall. Except there was elder dragon attacking the place. Killed it. More bones and scales to her collection. She then managed to return to Labyrinthian without more distractions and went inside. Seeing the first room and all the skeletons: "Oh, this looks promising." Oh, and more dragons...this time undead variety...well, few fireballs took care of that one. She's gotten as far as the room with enchanting table, alchemy table and dead conjurer.

Today I had one of the most intense dragon fights I've ever had, with one of the funniest end also.

After the previous day's adventures, Ricimer left Lydia to Whiterun and traversed the tundra in a roughly west-northwest direction. He intended to cross the mountains near Drelas' Cottage, but as he arrived next to the house, a blood dragon swooped down from its nearby perch. Ricimer had no other option but to fight.

He spent most of his arrows, poisons and health potions with negligible effect and would surely have been killed if the dragon hadn't been distracted by two bears and a sabercat. It killed them quickly, though, and Ricimer remembered that a live dog is better than a dead lion. So, he took to his heels. Too bad the dragon followed.

Ricimer desperately sidestepped the fire attacks of the dragon, but it had a new trick up its sleeve. It started to land now and then almost top of our hero, and only quick rushes and jumps saved him from becoming the dragon's meal. This went on for some time, and the situation started to look desperate.

Finally, near Swindlers' Den, Ricimer found what he was looking for: a giant herding a mammoth. The dragon concentrated on them, and Ricimer pelted it with his last arrows from behind a rock. The dragon managed to kill the giant, but at the next second Ricimer shot an arrow. The dragon simultaneously turned to face the mammoth, so that its back was towards Ricimer, and its tail raised. The arrow... Well, the arrow struck just below the tail's root. To put it bluntly, Ricimer shot the beast through its pooper (ouch!). Funnily enough, that was also the killing shot. The dragon promptly died, and after looting it Ricimer set up camp for the night.

^I suppose the dragon would have survived the arrow fine - it was the injure to its dignity that killed it.

Marilyn (II), Bosmeri vampire archer, currently travelling with Flemeth, Bosmeri vampire witch,
- discovered that the Whiterun guards barrack (left from the gate, across the street from Warmaiden's) is an ideal snack bar: there's always a sleeping guard there (strong and hardy so he'll survive being fed on), and the one sitting in the vestibule might as well be sleeping too for his attentiveness;
- returned a stolen hip bone to its owner, an eccentric Altmeri bone sculptor (3DNPC Ytharil) and was rewarded with what the sculptor claims to be a remodelled Orc skull (looks pretty much like a human one); Mari is a bit at a loss what do with the skull (she had expected a more monetary reward), but the sculptor seemed to think it valuable, so yeah, well;
- stopped at Markarth and sold some Dwarven spoils from Raldbthar to Calcelmo; also took advantage of Argis the Bulwark's healthy body and devotion to his thane;
- made it to Solitude in a night's ride, feeding on some Forsworn and bandits on the way, and took a boat to Icewater Jetty from there;
- handed the Bloodstone Chalice in to Garan Marethi; Mari then had a little briefing from Harkon and learned about his grand plan to overcome the tyranny of the Sun - which, although she has learned to fear the sunlight like any vampire, does sound more than a bit insane. She begins to suspect that Harkon may turn out to be that mysterious World-Eater Among-the-Hist kept babbling about, the one she's meant to bring down - trying to shroud the world in eternal darkness so he can suck it all dry. For the moment, though, she's going along with his plan - especially as Serana has come out of her temporary seclusion and wants to come along on her next mission. Yay!

Licinia Selvanis, imperial battlemage:

- Returned to Whiterun to off load the stuff she's been hauling around and sell them.
- Then she found herself in Dimhallow Crypt, freed Serana. They are not out of there yet.

After today, I think Jenassa is majorly peeved with my character. Namely, after a day of ingredient-gathering and fighting sabercats and mudcrabs Ricimer went to have a drink at the Drunken Huntsman. There he happened to sit at the same table as a Dunmer woman. She spoke to him, and Ricimer found her so intriguing he hired her at the spot.

For the next few days they wandered in the Whiterun Hold and Eastmarch. They went to Shearpoint, and along the way witnessed an Imperial patrol slaughtering a Stormcloak one. That was a lucky chance, since Ricimer could loot a bow for Jenassa from one of the corpses (the cheapskate he is, he hadn't bought one). Directly after the dragon at Shearpoint attacked, and the duo had to fight it. Jenassa cried out "I'm not going to stick around to fight a dragon!" but stayed anyway. She had no option, though, as the beast concentrated on her. Directly after that Ricimer and she had to fight Krosis.

Then they visited Windhelm, where they sold the loot, investigated the murder case and continued their journey towards Arcwind Point, where an anonymous letter had directed Ricimer. On the way they cleared a cave full of spiders, which also happened to contain a small vampire lair. Ricimer got infected, so they had to return to Windhelm. On the way they visited Morvunskar. Ricimer would have retreated, but Jenassa rushed to fight the mages in the courtyard. Half a dozen dead mages later, they were back in Windhelm. Ricimer, again a cheapskate, decided not to buy a potion, but try and cure his disease in the temple. A visit to the shrine of Talos worked (which might lead Ricimer reconsidering if Talos really is a divine).

Then they finally got to Arcwind Point, but not before fighting the dragon nestling next to Rift Imperial camp. In the Arcwind Point Jenassa got pummeled rather badly by a hulking draugr. Also, the duo had to fight another dragon. After that they fought a Draugh Death Overlord, that only got defeated when Ricimer led it to a trap. During that fight Jenassa got beaten to her knees at least twice, and thrown a good dozen feet by Ricimer's Unrelenting Force. She didn't sound too happy, when she reminded him they were on the same side.

There were a few other scuffles, too, during which Jenassa accidentally tasted Unrelenting Force. So, when they were back in Whiterun, she had fought three dragons, been badly beaten, tossed around like a rag, got breathed-on ice and fire, and used as a packmule and a meatshield. In spite of that, she had performed admirably in combat. Accordingly, Ricimer gave her a 400 septim bonus on top of the equipment he had given her. Then he dismissed her.

Next day Ricimer went to Kynesgrove to deliver the frost salts he had promised Dravynea. It was not as simple as he had anticipated, though. For when he entered the inn, an unknown knight was speaking with one Ricimer had earlier met there (both from Interesting NPCs mod). Before he knew what was happening, Kynesgrove was under a bandit attack and he had to participate in the defense. The thugs were dispatched swiftly, and then it was time for me to call it a day and quit the game.

All in all, a particularly fun play session. I especially liked how viable my alchemist/alteration mage/lightly armored warrior build was. A combination of Stoneflesh, fortify one-handed potion and poisons wholly made up for the relative lack of perks in combat skills. Also, I love the Interesting NPCs mods still more than before. It's admirable how seamlessly the modders have integrated the characters and quests into the game world. They are interesting and lively, but not intrusively so. The voice acting too is excellent, at its best rivaling the vanilla one.

Single version:
Marilyn (II), Bosmeri vampire, and Serana, Nord vampire, went looking for a priest to give a lovebite to, then returned to Castle Volkihar to listen to an audio book and do some housecleaning.

LP version (spoilers for Dawnguard and The Mind of Madness):
Spoiler:
Marilyn (II), Bosmeri vampire archer, Guild Master and Listener, and Serana, Nord vampire, set out from Castle Volkihar accompanied by Flemeth, Bosmeri vampire witch, as well as Garmr and CuSith, deathhounds, in search of a moth priest to read Serana's Elder Scroll. On their way along the north coast of Haafingar they were accosted by the Dawnguard and faced a coven of hagravens and their pet troll in Ravenscar Hollow, where they had sought shelter from the daylight, but prevailed in both cases.

They spent a few days in Solitude where they received the first hint from Corpulus Vinius at the Winking Skeever. They also tapped some sleeping guards in Castle Dour, and Mari finally spoke to the madman wandering the streets near the Bards College; in consequence she spent some confusing but also amusing time in the mind of Emperor Pelagius and acquired another daedric artifact.

Leaving Solitude Marilyn and Serana also took their leave from Flemeth who headed home to Dawnstar: partly because her summons tend to get in the way in combat but also because Mari wants some time alone with her new, um... friend (for now). When they collected Shadowmere from the stables Mari took the opportunity and bought Serana her own horse: a dappled white in ebony horse armour, just like Frost was.

Corpulus's hint led them to Dragonbridge, where a guard told them that their quarry had left not long ago and headed south. They soon found out that the priest and his escort had been ambushed by vampires a short way south of Dragonbridge and the priest taken captive to a nearby place named Forebear's Holdout. When they arrived there, however, the priest's captors had already been killed by Dawnguard agents. After disposing of these Marilyn enthralled the priest by biting his neck, which probably hadn't been done to him by a pretty young woman in a long time, if ever (are moth priests actually celibate? Oh all the things Bethesda's loremakers never tell us!), so it's no wonder he fell under her domination.

Back at Castle V they listened to the moth priest reading the Scroll, only to learn that they needed two other Scrolls to fully understand its prophecy. Serana confided to Mari that her mother may have absconded with one and left hints concerning her whereabouts in the neglected wings of the castle, and so the two ladies spent what felt like ages rummaging through dusty halls and decrepit corridors infested with rogue skeletons, feral vampires and gargoyles mad with rage for not having been dusted off once in the last 2000 years or so. At long last they found Valerica's secret laboratory and are now standing on the threshold of the Soul Cairn.

Milady Winter, nord spellsword and stormcloak officer:
- delved deeper into Labyrinthian killing everything she met, until she found Morokei. She started with summon storm Atronach -
scroll, followed by few chain lightning spells. Running out of magica, she switched to her bow and basically peppered him full of arrows while the atronach distracted him. Got the staff and the mask.
- When she left, some idiot Thalmor tried to stop her. He ended up biting the dust, joining the rotting draugr.
- She then stopped by in Windstad Manor to drop off loot and then visited Solitude and Bards College, where she made a delivery. Sold loot.

Rúna Ravnen, nord witch and Illia, imperial witch:

- Left Darklight tower. Entered Goldenglow Estate...she basically just walked in and killed everybody with her spells/staff. She didn't even bother to sneak much. Not very thiefly way but she's a witch, not a thief. There were few moments she had to resort to dagger or mace. Illia waited outside.
- Returned to Riften, met an orc who invited her to join Dawnguard. She sold loot and robbed a house. She visited Thieves Guild to get her reward and more jobs. Illia waited outside.
- The two of them headed to Windhelm. Rúna stopped by to tell the Arentino-kid that Grelod was dead. She then robbed Viola Giordino's house. Illia waited outside again. Illia spent a whole lot of time just waiting.

Jurie gra-Morq, female orc smith and Gorbash Iron-Hand and pesky Barbas:
- Starting from Journeyman's Nook, they headed north, met and killed wispmother...found the wreck of The Pride of Tel Vos. Whacked some bandits and found a diary.
- Stopped by in Lakeview Manor where Jurie practised her craft and made herself full ebony-armour set and ebony bow. She also spend some time with her family.
- She visted Riften, which was under attack by a dragon. She accidentaly hit a guard with her arrow and had to pay a fine. That dealt with, she shopped, delivered three flawless amethysts to Talen-Jei. Made Brand-shei a very happy dunmer/argonian.
-Then she and her company headed out for some treasure hunting. New bandits had settled to Valtheim towers and they cleared them again. Found the treasure chest. And to Whiterun to sell loot. She's been constantly tripping over Barbas, it's time to get rid of the pooch.

Today Ricimer decided to go gathering some ingredients from the Reach, where he hadn't been before. Also, he had seen so many Afflicted Refugees that he decided to check out if he could eradicate the problem before the disease would spread. So he ordered Lydia to accompany him and off they went. Their introduction to the Reach wasn't very pleasant; first they encountered a dead Khajiit merchant lying on the roadside. A dozen steps further, and they suddenly saw two Orcish hunters running on the road from a side path, chased by three Forsworn. The latter killed the hunters in cold blood before our heroes could do anything. Angered at that kind of casual murdering, Ricimer used Unrelenting Force on the Forsworn and attacked them before they got up. Some poison did the trick, and the barbarians were soon dead.

Then, after a relatively peaceful trek, the duo arrived at Karthwasten, where they saw some mercenaries bullying the townsfolk. Ricimer got peeved and intimidated the mercs to leave. Then he and Lydia camped for the night. The next morning they got to Peryite's shrine. After collecting the ingredients needed (most of which luckily were already in storage in Breezehome) they returned and went to Bthardamz. Ricimer's objective was to kill every single Afflicted to stop them spreading their disease. He didn't dare to loot anything off the plagued corpses, so this time the quest was purely about principle, not gain. When he got the Spellbreaker, he simply tossed it to the ground to spite Peryite and to avoid retaining any ties to the prince. After that he and Lydia made their way to Markarth, where they started the Forsworn Conspiracy quest.

As a general remark, I am even more satisifed with my character build after today. Now that my char's Alchemy skill is at the 80s and Alteration at 50s, and he has a good stock of fortifying potions, he can survive even melee fights nearly as well as a dedicated warrior. Plus, he has paralyzation and other poisons to boot. This time I haven't even used Smithing or Enchanting to any great degree, because potions have covered those needs so well. I think I'll try a more magic-oriented character with alchemical emphasis for my next build, and see if it's as viable.
