Connect every "piece of the puzzle" you have found to a individual line (like you did with the last two)

Nice assumption but no,it's not the right answer.

I am who I am,
The Dragonborn

rising from my slumber to do you harm.
Awake

Like a river, flowing in one direction,
From past, to present

on a well paved path,
Unbroken Road

Stones to mark the passing of time
Ancient Stones

to a magnificent door.
City Gates

Muffled from unwanted ears
Silent Footsteps

I lay in a trap built for an elder.
Dragonsreach

Icey rain punishing the ground
Frostfall

casting a "veil"* on the Gods of Old.
Night without Stars

I embrace the Void for what it is
Into Darkness

so a mothers hand can grant me peace.
Kyne's Peace

My shackles are broken
Unbound

and my mind is free to drift to the worlds edge.
Far Horizons

White stories follow me on my journey
A Winter's Tale

as my flag and my trusty horse.
The Bannered Mare

A calmness instilles...
Before the Storm

a visit full of surprises.
A Chance Meeting

The coldness leaves me
Out of the Cold

as I embrace the fire.
Around the Fire

Shades and Whispers...
Shadows and Echoes

ambushed by my will.
Caught off Guard

Lights that shimmer
Aurora

Sanguine and Sky-Forge as the last witnesses...
Blood and Steel

Ok these are tracks 1-8, 19-26 and 35-42 of the soundtrack...

And that is the answer.Skyrim's soundtrack.

Thanks guys :) The riddle was intended as an homage to one ingame entity and one real life person. Both are elements that are missing from their world and make it a bleak place:
Talos,God of Mankind and azuarc,"The Riddler" of this forum (hope you get a chance to toss a riddle our way once again) :)

I seem to recall a similar riddle on the Oblivion thread. If I remember, that was the Azuarc reference. Anyway, it didn't make it any easier to guess.

OK, my riddle.

We are three brothers.

The first is a soldier
and he carries the prize of a god
He stands looking at a maiden who never moves
Shadowed by a quarter-month moon

The second is a lawman
who stands at a meeting of ways
He is known for his lack of mercy
and yet he was moved when those in his captivity perished

The third is the greatest, the largest
A man whose power once contested with the blood of kings
Now he spends his days complaining
About he who put a hole in the sun

Who are we three brothers
And what binds our bloodline?

Lets see how this goes...

You are correct,it was one of azuarc's devilish riddles :) In my very first post on UESP I solved that riddle.

Now,I'll go make myself a coffee and see what you brought us edgukator.

We are three brothers.

The first is a soldier
and he carries the prize of a god
Perhaps he is an NPC, such as Silus Versuius, and is a key part of a Daedric quest.
He stands looking at a maiden who never moves
Shadowed by a mid-month moon
Again, reminds me of a Daedric quest, most likely Azura, hence the mid-month moon, or half moon, though Aranea Ienith is a female...

The second is a lawman
who stands at a meeting of ways
He is known for his lack of mercy
and yet he was moved when those in his captivity perished
No clue so far.

The third is the greatest, the largest
A man whose power once contested with the blood of kings
Now he spends his days complaining
About he who put a hole in the sun
Putting a hole in the sun, which I think is the Red Mountain eruption in Morrowind, and which he complains about often.

Who are we three brothers
And what binds our bloodline?

I won't over correct yet, but just point out this:

Shadowed by a mid-month moon
Again, reminds me of a Daedric quest, most likely Azura, hence the mid-month moon, or half moon, though Aranea Ienith is a female...

There was a change made there to quarter moon... but your interpretation is partially correct for partially the wrong reasons...

Other than that, your assessment of stanzas 2 and 3 are off base.

Right, let's get to it.

The first thing I've put my mind to... is the last phrase xD

"about he who put a hole in the sun"
Padomay had pierced Anu who then hid inside the sun, so I believe this last line might refer to Padomay (or one if his void-like counterparts)

On another note, I was browsing the uesp for anything relating to the sun, and I came acrosse this fellow Thorryg Sunkiller, a stormcloak commander.

"and he carries the prize of a god"
This sounds like an artifact to me.
The only NPC I know carrying an artifact is the Champion of Boethiah, who does seem like a warrior.
(that is if soldier doesn't mean "enlisted in the army")

"he stands looking at a maiden who never moves"
This reminds me of the lady or lover stone, who both depict women. And as they are stones, they never move.
Other than that, it might be the statues of meridia, azura or boethiah.
Another possibility might be a statue of Dibella

"Shadowed by a mid month moon"
a moon-cycle approximately takes one month, so a mid month moon would be a crescent moon

"who stands at a meeting of ways"
a meeting of ways is a crossroads, either litteraly or figuratively (so, a choice or dilemma of sorts)

"the blood of kings"
this reminds me of the Septim bloodline

"the second is a lawman"
this could be litteraly someone who knows about laws, an attorney, a judge or a lawmaker (jarl?)
Lawman is also a rank within the great houses of morrowind. So I suppose this could stand for a dunmer.

On a sidenote:
I assume that these brothers aren't three men of the same parents, but rather that their "brotherhood" is oath/faction based.

Anayway, that's as far as I'll get for this moment

These may all sound like wild guesses, but trust me, I have a thought process. Is the second Sanguine? A meeting of ways could mean the meeting of good and evil, which is what Sanguine means.

I noticed this too, but he seems to be an ordinary commander, and has no quest related to him.

Indeed, that's why I didn't give him any more thought.

Oh, and a bit more about that Padomay business:

Padomay is considered the father of Lorkhan and the daedric princes.
Now, in the forum, I've read a couple of times that the Dovahkiin and Tiber Septim might have been avatars of Lorkhan.

So, the "now he complains about he who pierced the sun" might refer to a Thalmor agent complaining about Talos
(but this might actually be a bit too far-fetched...)

I get the feeling it is three people of the same race.

He who put the hole in the sun could refer to Magnus, which again points towards the Winterhold College. I think perhaps Ancano or Savos Aren in the third stanza. Brand-Shei might fittoo, though, given his heritage...

The first one makes me think of Nelacar or Malyn Varen, again an Altmer and a Dunmer, though none are "soldiers" per se...

The last, the second, sort of reminds me of Arondil, but he is only a lawmaker in his own deranged 'kingdom'. Then again, the only Dunmer or Altmer 'lawmaker' I can think of is the one in Winterhold, who doesn't fit, and then that detestable Thalmor Agent in Markarth, Ondolemar, but he doesn't fit either.

But now, looking at it again, I think the second stanza fits Nepos the Nose better, and the third fits (sort of) with Madanach, King in Rags, whose Forsworn did contest with Tiber Septim himself at Old Hroldan, among others.

The first is probably some other reachman local.

Ah, this one will be misleading, as I haven't quite worded it correctly. Think the act, not the actor...

Quote:
"and he carries the prize of a god"
This sounds like an artifact to me.

Correct track. Wrong destination.

Quote:
"he stands looking at a maiden who never moves"
This reminds me of the lady or lover stone, who both depict women. And as they are stones, they never move.
Other than that, it might be the statues of meridia, azura or boethiah.

One of these is correct.

Quote:
"Shadowed by a mid month moon"
a moon-cycle approximately takes one month, so a mid month moon would be a crescent moon

And this is why I changed it. A quarter-month moon...

Quote:
"who stands at a meeting of ways"
a meeting of ways is a crossroads, either litteraly or figuratively (so, a choice or dilemma of sorts)

Yes, either literally or figuratively.

Quote:
"the blood of kings"
this reminds me of the Septim bloodline

Yes. Yes it does sound like that.

Quote:
"the second is a lawman"
this could be litteraly someone who knows about laws, an attorney, a judge or a lawmaker (jarl?)
Lawman is also a rank within the great houses of morrowind. So I suppose this could stand for a dunmer.

Wrong track.

Good assumption, but it probably goes further than you suppose.

Quote:

No.

Quote:

Two of these points will help you.

Quote:
The first one makes me think of Nelacar or Malyn Varen, again an Altmer and a Dunmer, though none are "soldiers" per se...

You're in the right area with one of these, but you don't quite know what you're looking for.

Quote:
The last, the second, sort of reminds me of Arondil, but he is only a lawmaker in his own deranged 'kingdom'. Then again, the only Dunmer or Altmer 'lawmaker' I can think of is the one in Winterhold, who doesn't fit, and then that detestable Thalmor Agent in Markarth, Ondolemar, but he doesn't fit either.

No.

This reminds me of the forgotten (forbidden?) legend quest where you must kill the three brothers and one is a warrior one is an archer and one is a Mage/ has his own staff and guards the eye of Magnus.

This line of thinking will probably put you wrong, but there is one aspect of it that plays into the answer.
