hi UESPeepz,
We all wear armor, light, heavy, bound. and the armor afeccts how you look ofcourse and how you feel at least by me; I feel cooler in full Ebony than in hide armor
So I was wondering: What is in your opinion the most beutiful or coolest armor?
f.e. I like the Dwarven set a lot, and the nightingale armor(mostly because of the cape i guess :3 )
But what do you peepz like best??

dragon scale armour for me, except instead of the helmet, i like the the jagged crown you have to give away as part of the civil war quest
i like the dwarf set as well

I love the Elven armour set, especially on females. Also a fan of steel plate, apart from the helmet, don't really like that.
Tue Oct 01, 2013 10:53 am
yeah it makes the set look much beter than with the actual helmet indeed
though i don't like the horn helmets
for me metal is just fine

Not in my case; playing a character that refrains from using any type of armour. Just warm clothing for me.
I probably like Elven and Glass armour the most. I didn't like the glass helmet, so I modded it a bit and now the set looks awesome
!

haha and what clothes do you like best? Thalmor robes are my favorite in this. But assuming that most pc's that wear clothing use spells to use as defense like; Oak flesh. I just count this a bound armor:P

I like the Psijic Order robes, but I have recently started to implement mods into to game. Looking for some nice reworks of robes (or entirely new robes) now.

yeah, Thalmor robes look pretty decent, but there are somewhat too dark for my taste
.

I sometimes prefer that darkness especially with my stealth character

It depends on the character, but my Orc is a fan of furs mixed with iron gauntlets and whatever boots. I like his hodge-podge collection of piecemeal equipment. It fits him. However, my usual thief characters will wear leather or the Nightingale gear and eventually glass.
That said, my Orc just put on a set of Orcish armor and I'm really liking the way he looks in it. No helmet, just a couple of circlets that provide bonuses....depending on what I'm doing. I didn't intend for him to wear heavy armor, but this may change things a little.

of the base game and official dlc armors. Thieve's guild armor is my favorite in appearance, but I wish we could get an un-enchanted version to swap in some better effects in some slots.
After that, it's the chitin set, makes me think dust assassin or something.
And if I'm a male character, the vampire armor feels so dignified and refined.... that has claws and can make someone's innards their outards with my fingers.

Nightingale body, with the DB gloves, boots and hood.
Looks badass as fuuuuuck.

Royal Vampire Armor.

I'm usually a fan of simple armour over the more flamboyant stuff. I like Dawnguard Heavy Armour, The light-grey version is my favourite.
Maybe a tie between Dawnguard Heavy Armour, and Nordic Carved Armour.

Dragonscale or Blades, they both look great on my main character.
ETA - And the fully covering version of fur armour.

Definitely dragonscale and I also like the look of Ebony mail.

I've fallen out of favor with most of the vanilla armors (usually because of textures, sometimes weird designs), but there may be a few remaining that I like.
I don't mind the Elven Armor. Of course, in my game I'm using it with Cabal's black-gold texture and I have a UNP female conversion and a CNHF female conversion.
Like this. Cabal's texture and the CNHF 'sternum safe' conversion.I like the appearance of the one fur armor that covers the entire body (or almost, for female characters). I don't like the bracers and shoes, though. I usually wear it with leather bracers/boots. Or hide.
Nightingale is still nice, but only if it has the Nightingale Prime HD leather textures.
Eh... I'm picky.

Same here. Also, I am biased against enchantments on armor. I just like to keep my characters' equipment simple - except for their fancy enchanted jewelry.

Plus one for the Thieves Guild armors. They have an understated and elegant look fitting for characters who don't want to call attention to themselves. I also wish there were unenchanted versions of it in the vanilla game, but I would leave it unenchanted.
Among the
unenchanted generic armors, I like leather armor the most for females. Hide is OK, too. The male versions... not so much. Elven armor looks good, but makes no sense for my stealthy characters. I will refrain from expressing my opinions about other armors in the game, as I am already getting off-topic...
Edit: for better word choice.

Daedric armor, it looks so badass. Shrouded armor, but only for females because they get a mask.

Ebony mail on female characters, along with elven armor gives that look where you can show off curves but still cover yourself completely. That and nightingale armor, totes with Believe on that one.

^^Seriously? I cringe till today whenever I merely think of Oblivion's version of glass or orcish, or indeed pretty much anything.
OT, I like hide/studded/scaled - especially scaled, which is easily the best looking light armour on both guys'n'girls IMO. Elvish is OK (actually pretty cool) with the AMB retexture, glass just barely tolerable either way, it just looks to bulky for light armour in my eyes; dragonscale OK again, vampire royal drop dead gorgeous. Heavy armour begins to look tolerable with steel plate (AMB again, vanilla just looks like cardboard, especially the helmet), orcish is fine, ebony too despite boob-plate silliness in the female version, carved nordic meh and the helmet downright hideous; can't speak as to daedric/dragonplate as I've never worn them, usually preferring light armour.

My only gripe with scaled armor is the fact opens up the upper chest and shoulders in the female base form. This is what scaled armor looks like in a realistic sense.
The female version of the vanilla set leaves alot exposed, and vital areas too, you could easily hit the heart or lungs with one well placed swing or arrow.

I'm trying to figure out when I wrote that.
