So I was brainstorming in my boredom, and I was curious as to what people imagine different areas of Tamriel would look like. What I propose is a collective collage of real life images that you all think matches a location's lore description. 1)The poster who posts the 15th picture selects a place in lore (specific or general) that they want done. 2)The pictures they post should be of the previous location (since they wont know they were the new page until after the post). 3)Post the detailed description of the location from the wiki or a direct source. 4)Only 3 pictures per post. Dig a little. Find a breathtaking set of images that you think really captures the feel of the area.Try to not duplicate pictures from previous posts and have fun. 5)USE SPOILERS. Dont need spamming giant screensavers. 6)Give a brief explanation if you feel it is necessary 7)Try to avoid fan art when possible 8 ) You may post pictures from previous topics, however you may not exceed the 3 pictures per post limit AND you need to contribute to the current topic 9) If you chose an area, you don't get to choose the next one. REMEMBER! -Respect copyrights. If you have to ask its probably a problem. -Respect the forum rules. Lovely beaches are fine... when they aren't advertisements, nudity, pirated images...etc. In relation to the "DLC files" I want people's opinion on Apocrypha, Herma Mora's plane of Oblivion "Apocrypha is Hermaeus Mora's plane of Oblivion, an endless library where all forbidden knowledge can be found. The books all have black covers with no titles, and the library is haunted by ghosts forever searching for knowledge." |

Neat thread concept. I do wonder whether your initial plan of getting 25 posts per area per page is feasible, though. -- Madness inspired by not-meant-for-mortal-minds knowledge seems to be one of HM's themes:

Interesting interpretation. I am picturing the place as "underground," part labyrinth, part catacomb (for dead knowledge and the spirits of those who went mad seeking the forbidden), with spooky Daedric librarians who have everything in mind but assisting your search. Incidentally, I didn't anticipate the bloating effect multiple picture posts by the same users and/or discussion posts would have. You might be able to flip a couple of pages with the help of those. See you on page two... if there is a page two!

Maybe we should do just 15 pictures total? That seems more reasonable. (5 posts 3 max each) And that would make you the chooser of the next location. Edit:rule change is made in OP |

That seems more reasonable, given the leisurely pace at which this subforum proceeds. Plus, you're asking users to expend a modicum of effort on their posts, which tends to reduce the response rate even further. I also think it would be wise to allow contributors to include pictures capturing previously discussed areas alongside submissions about the area currently under consideration, as long as they're well-marked as treating those previous areas. It would be a shame to miss out on some great thoughts about Apocrypha just because we had moved on to Black Marsh, say. -- How about Vvardenfell, at the time of Morrowind? Its terrain, culture, and lore was many a member's introduction to the franchise. Largely untouched by homogenizing Imperial culture, the island came across as aloof, insular, traditional (some would say stagnant), independent, and proud. But perhaps this enigmatic land and its people have more faces to show. UESP Wiki wrote: Vvardenfell is an island subcontinent located inside the bay-like Inner Sea and is almost completely surrounded by land except for its northern coast, which meets the Sea of Ghosts. The district is dominated by the great volcano, Red Mountain, that formed the island; the Inner Sea is likely to be a gigantic crater. The district is characterized by arid wastes, rocky highlands and coastal wetlands filled with unusual flora and fauna unique to Vvardenfell. I don't want to post up an initial set of images, for fear of influencing the pristine thoughts of others on the subject. |

I don't have a problem with retrospect pictures. But they ought to contribute at least one picture to the current topic AND still be in the 3 max pictures per post. Otherwise people will post on all of the locations prior and make for a large nasty post of late content. Red mountain after the moon destroyed Vivec city and half the island
