I wasnt sure if i was the only one who does this but from, lets say, Morrowind to Oblivion to Skyrim for arguments sake did you carry on the family's name? As in Morrowind i had my character called Zrew :D and then in Oblivion i carried on playing as her 'ancester' and like wise in Skyrim.

My Question is, do any of you do the say?

-Thanks Zrew :)

Yeah I have this thing about the last name Rethan, every single Dunmer I have made in the games and the RPs has had this last name.

I try to make some sort of connection between my Oblivion and Skyrim characters. I've played little of Morrowind, but I imagine the connection with Morrowind characters also quite feasible.
For example, one of my Skyrim characters, though he looks like a Dunmer, carries the name Ezio Valtieri, because he is the son of my Oblivion Dunmer assassin and the oh-too-obvious-vampire. He married Lydia, and I have some concept art of their daughter, who will probably have some part to play in any possible future TES games. Image
Another of my Skyrim characters is a Redguard, but she was raised by one of my elven characters from Oblivion, whose own daughter died in the Great War (fighting on the Empire's side).Image I used this to justify why their personalities are similar in many respects (something more than vaguely Pinkie-Pieish).
I think I have the makings of a good soap opera screen writer. :P

once I tried to do this but I found it a little to strecht, that the most important heroes are of the same family, and I'm a geek lore, so iI throw that Idea away . But still this forme my golden rule of naming character by the name of Loki children from scandinavia in mythology and the second name always is Saul even if they are not related. So in Morrowind I have dunmer Fenris Saul, In Daggerfall there was breton Sleipnir Saul, Arena Vale Saul , oblivion Jormung Saul , Skyrim Hel Saul (Althouge he was male)

Arena and Daggerfall had two unrelated Nords as my canon characters. My Morrowind character was also my Oblivion character. My Skyrim character is the descendant of my Morrowind/Oblivion character.

Most of my characters across the board are disconnected entities, a previously unremarkable stranger that enters the world's stage at the right time. One exception is my Dark Brotherhood character, Casandra: the Oblivion version is the Skyrim version. The only reason she isn't a vampire in Skyrim is because she was cured of it against her will, as a punishment.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Most of my characters aren't connected to each other at all. The exception being an Argonian lineage with a member existing in the time period of every game (two in Skyrim's case). The Argonians never become the respective heroes of the time-spans they adventure in, such as the Champion of Cyrodiil or the Dragonborn.

I really love to give a character a detailed family history prior to the beginning of their journey, as I feel it helps to influence their choices and moralities. For example, my Skyrim character, Neerus, having lived in Skyrim all his life and having his mindset influenced somewhat by nordic ways, feels shame in being a close descendant to an assassin for the Dark Brotherhood, and so he works hard to be an honorable warrior.

Some of my characters have connections.

J'Khar is not related to any former characters, he is khajiit thief raised in Elswyr.

Koharu II is related to Koharu I, Knight Errant of the White Stallion. Koharu was a simple merchant forced into a war.

Drenvar is related to Ceoldaric le Branduin, Champion of Cyrodiil, but not directly. Some distant cousins great-grandfather... but it makes a great story to tell at the bar! Drenvar is a Companion, but most of all, he is a hunter.

Hannah Lysander is an aspiring mage from High Rock. He specializes in Conjuration and Lightning spells. He is not related to any former characters. (And on a special side note, he currently has SEVENTY percent magic resist!)

I make so many characters on so many games that I don't even remember their names. I was never interested in leveling up, and have never gone past level 20.
