I don't think Isran or the other Dawnguard members care much if one their ranks is a werewolf or not

Try changing in Ft. Dawnguard, and you'll get 100 bolts in you before your vision clears.

Could have something to do with that, I'd think. Kind of like items you can take from a faction's habitation--past a certain point, you can do certain things you couldn't before.

I don't normally invest that many perks into brute force attacks like that, I use ambushes and skirmishing tactics to my advantage

Wait..with the Beast Form, those perks are free, and almost automatic the more hearts you consume.
