Yeah, think of the game as an RP medium, not a strict guide of how and what to do. I have 85 RPs and only one is Dragonborn, only one uses shouts, even started the MQ, etc.

It isn't missing the point to do the main quest. I do it. Doesn't mean I always do it the same way or that I think everyone should do it. Do what you want, it's your game.
