Definitely not, the proportions are for a much larger animal and the horker's 'trunk' is more a giant mouth with the telltale tri-tusks configuration.

This is a very curious thing, as the image is all I know of. I don't know how he isn't the Champion of Cyrodiil and why he isn't Jygylag, but that is a genuine photo of some soul who has Skyrim at the moment. Cue discussion.

Word through the gravpevine is that, in a rare case of canonical retroactive continuity, the Champion of Cyrodiil was an Imperial Male who, having taken on the powers of The Prince of Madness, has gown in both power and insanity to fulfill that office.

Heck, Tiber Septim was elevated to to godhood and worshipped as Talos. Why can't the same fate apply to some mortal who took control of the Shivering Isles?

I don't know if it as possible. Has there been any word on how Tiber Septim reached apotheosis? I would be lead to believe that one of the other Divines had a hand in it. Talos also had a greater record than the Champion of Cyrodiil-- he was emperor for 81 years and unified the empire. Not to downplay the champion, but I think Talos bested him in a much longer stride.

According to lore, Tiber Septim had the help of Akatosh, all thanks to the Covenant and the Amulet of Kings.

Then again, ol' Tiber endured an apotheosis into the Aedric pantheon. The Champ graduated into the realm of the Daedra.

Talos was definitely varsity material. But Sheogorath and his ilk— they're the JV, no?

Sort of like the issue if Mannimarco showed up in Skyrim. It's in his job description to cheat death.

I think that's a fourth-wall line that seems to suggest that the person is who we think he is :)

But the nine divine are boring... the Daedra are never boring...

In response to Pobatti, I agree it has to be the same Sheogorath that we think it is.

What I would like to know is where the image came from... if it's official or not. (they could have put him in as an easter egg for the guys that got the hour to play it...)

If you're going from a standpoint, one way to explain it is that while the races have lost a lot of their power from their change from ehlnofey to mortals, they could still contain some kind of connection to the Daedra (Since Daedra and Aedra were relate and ehlnofey were essentially lesser Aedra in a sense) that they could take on a Daedra's power if said power is attached to a 'curse' like Sheogorath

Who do we think he is XD im all confused by this, because if he is our character from oblivion turned into sheogorath, how would he even know our character in skyrim. Me i just think this is a easter egg and nothing more.

That's why I said it was a fourth-wall line :)

He recognises 'us', 'you', 'me' - the person playing the game - just as Maiq sometimes does. Since Skyrim takes place 200 years after Oblivion, it fits in really well with the quote in the screenshot.

Oh yes (realisation hits) :)

If it had been a reference to 200 years it would have been a century or two.

Maybe it's part of a related quest that the Mad God wants you to do, just a guess. It will be interesting to see this expanded on when the game is released... but now all I'll be able to think about is finding him...

I had a feeling someone would say that. :P

Regardless, I can't think of why he would say decades; maybe if he had said 5 years, it would have been funnier/creepier...

It's possible it is the champion from Cyrodiil. Granted, he's probably too far insane now to even remember coherently.

To be honest, it is impossible to say. It could simply be that having the power of a Daedric Prince on a mortal could have altered him in a way the other Daedra didn't think possible. It could have enhanced his lifespan, or made him into a true full-fledged Daedric Prince. You are Sheogorath at the end of SI, so you CAN alter the realm and how it works. Even to the point where the binding hands of age can't affect you.

To support the last sentence, remember the third to last quest in SI's main questline. You encounter the man named Dyus, who existed before Jyggalag became Sheogorath. Sheogorath was able to forbid him to die. So in all essences, he is immortal; granted, in the Isles only I'd presume. So the champion was probably able to do this to himself, with the same restrictions.

My take on it.

Forget about Dyus— he had the grace of being within Sheogorath's ultimate agenda.

Take a good, long look at Ciirta instead: yet another human who should have a lifespan of less than a hundred years. Not only does she witness the beginning of one Greymarch, she lived long enough to suffer the beginning of yet another Greymarch. And all this while she hid away from Sheogorath's attention and Daedric agents.

My take: anyone who is given access to to the Shivering Isles will no longer age. The only way they can die is from more rather direct means: be it magic, tooth, claw, blade, or an excessive application of gravity.

The reason you cannot send me a private message is because you're a brand-new member. Welcome to the forums (mind you, this is a very rare instance where I welcome anyone). As a security measure, the forum software is set with security measures to guard against spambots. You are clearly not a spambot, so a moderator should be able to unlock those features for you.

As to my signature: it is what my latest, last, and greatest Oblivion character would've said to Baurus during the opening scenes to Oblivion. I'm a really big fan for irony and snarky comebacks.

Damn it, I hate myself now for opening this thread (too curious I guess), this is very odd though I really want to see how this will be handled in the game later on.
So was the Champion just a place-holder?

You're assuming that the champion becoming ruler over the SI to be canon. This isn't Mass Effect. It doesn't import your old save games and choices. It's quite possible that Bethesda's canon for this is that Sheogorath was never replaced.

And you're now assuming every add-on/dlc never took place. Regardless of what you think, the option of becoming Sheogorath was always present in the add-on. This isn't as complicated as a direct sequel to New Vegas, there was only one road to take, and thinking of a way to continue the story shouldn't have been hard, what they've done isn't fully clear. The Champ could have morphed into the original some how, although personally I'm now upset.

Now that we have both Mehrunes and Sheogorath confirmed this means no Jyggalag in Skyrim. I would have preferred him over the latter.

that greybeard dragon thing seems very hard for me to see, ehh I don't really consider things a spoiler unless I see it. So if I saw a pic then it would ruin it. Sides it builds anticipation, and hopefully the result will not disappoint.

No. I'm not assuming that at all. There is canon and there is non-canon. It's a pretty common literary device. I'm saying that you don't know what Bethesda's official ending to that story is.

Good point, I think it is fair to assume that all Daedric Planes are outside of normal rules, if the ruler of that realm wills it. It would make sense that Sheogorath would have to forbid Dyus to die, since he was a keeper of Jyggalag's knowledge. And Jyggalag was all about order; so he kept things natural, even lifespans to those he needed, at least I think.
