More Pete tweet news:

Quote:
@DCDeacon Oh another thing, will you be able to see the travel while on carriages or will you just load at your destination?

@DCDeacon Pete Hines @MarcoWolfland You load to your destination.

A little bit disappointing but not to bad.

Quote:
FangMaGuoLai Li Song @DCDeacon Will you be able to tweak your race/name/appearance at the end of the intro to Skyrim like in Oblivion and FO:3? Please respond.

@DCDeacon Pete Hines @FangMaGuoLai No. Make sure you do it right the first time.

Pretty disappointing for multi character players like me :(

That's kind of annoying. After a while, the opening quest just becomes routine. Having to play through it is just annoying. I'm also disappointed about the carriage remark.

I'm honestly surprised that people thought the "riding a carriage to another city" thing was anything more than just a way to fast travel without having been to the city beforehand. I mean, I'm pretty sure that this was something that was reported on in many of the hands-on previews..

FYI, an end to the whole "can you turn off blood," thing:

Yeah same here, I was hoping something similar to "Grand Theft Auto" when you ride the taxi

I'm hoping that at least the choice you make within the tutorial has a lasting impact in the game, that would at least make the replaying it for each character a little more meaningful.

I'm almost hoping the opposite, that the choice you make then, has a negligible impact, because I want my character to have the power to learn more about the situation, before choosing sides.

I'm kind of hoping for something that allows both, so that initial choice in the heat of the moment doesnt stop you reversing it later it just changes your route to get there.

Concerning a potential earlier-than-expected release of Skyrim:

@DCDeacon can you guys give retailers the ok the sell the game now that pirates are playing free while I payed in full and am waiting a week

Pobatti is trying to imply that there is a possibility of it being released early. I don't see that happening, but who knows.

He's saying game retailers get their games before the release date. That's pretty common unless the games can be zapped in on midnight of the 11th.

That would kinda suck if it was released early. 11-11-11 is a cool date, they need to keep it.

Yeah, Pete just didn't word that the best way possible. While there is a chance that some might release the game early accidentally (it has happened before), it's not something you should count on. Besides, at this point it's only a week away from the day. It would be chaos to change the release day this close to the end.

If you knew about it. The date was confirmed from the start, to change it now would be chaos from a logistical point of view.

I think it would be bad from a PR point of view. Some people would just die if their friends got the game 4 days before them simply because they preordered somewhere else. The retailers who get the shipment last will also be very not amused.

Every game of Skyrim's magnitude is leaked early. I've never heard of a company saying "**** it, might as well release it now."

That would be extremely unfair for the stores that aren't getting their delivery until right before 11-11-11

Not gonna happen, go watch the 3 hours leak if you are fiending
