Shopkeepers gotta make a living somehow, guys. With dynamic economies, you may be able to make somebody rich enough to be able to buy your expensive stuff now though.

That's already been confirmed. There's going to be at least 70.

There was more than 7. Like double that number. I think there were 17 all up, and 4 from SI.

LOL. That'd be pretty sweet actually .. Since marriage has been implemented in the game, it would be interesting if the ladies in the bars watching you brawl liked you more if you win, etc .. That is, if they're the kind of women to be attracted to that kinda of character, and the other girls would dislike you for boasting/ bragging.

EDIT: It'd be nice to have enchanted weapons to look ... Well ... Enchanted this time around. I am not sure if anything has been said about this yet from Bethesda, but the way enchanted weapons looked in Oblivion was more than disappointing because they would glow once when you pull them out, and that's it .. At least in Morrowind they were shiny 24/7. If anyone can tell me something about this, that'd be sweet. 8)

Yes, better enchanted effects would be cool. Screw subtlety, I want a flaming battle axe.

I put this into the now long dead Tavern Brawls thread

Exactly .. At least the glossy effect of Morrowind was still eye-candy .. Oblivion's enchanted items were boring.

I want more realism during battle. If I've hit you with a war hammer I want to see your skull caved in, if I've just slashed you with a sabre or long sword why hasn't your arm been tore to shreds or better come off! Finishing moves are needed what's wrong with occasional decapitation? I can't recall a spot of blood, I may as well be battering them with a kipper.

Hmmm there are a lot of things I would like to be in skyrim, most of which probably won't. Here's my attempt at making a short list. Sorry if it's tl;dr

1.) Return of spears, crossbows, thrown weapons. I understand that they are trying to "focus on the other weapons" but I can't see adding in these classic weapons taking away from polishing everything else. Sure, it's a little bit more but they proved in Morrowind that they could handle it. Again, the game will be FANTASTIC without them, they are just something I would like to see.

2.) A hardcore mode would be neat. Don't get me wrong, I loved Oblivion, but Morrowind had a much bigger sense of adventure for me. Most notably with the restricted fast-travel and lack of a proper quest marker. I know these things are optional in Oblivion, and probably in Skyrim too, but they are too tempting to use when in a frustrating situation. And, at the end of the game experience, the frustration is a big part. The sense of accomplishment when you achieve a goal that's been stumping you for awhile (like the one ashland quest in morrowind where you had landmarks to look for to find your way) is something that isn't attainable when you have a bright red arrow pointing the way. Also, having to eat, drink and rest a la Fallout: New Vegas would be cool, but I know that was an Obsidian game and it's not something Bethesda will likely adopt.

3.) Reduced level scaling. I feel like I'm just pointing out what I liked more about morrowind here haha. I hated the scaling in oblivion. I don't want to see bandits wielding glass claymores right after I find my first one. Totally ruins the experience. Plus, they could just sell that and they wouldn't have to steal my ten septims.

4.) I am completely against multiplayer in elder scrolls, but I think the addition of an online arena would be neat. Basically just like the arena in Oblivion, but fighting other characters. It wouldn't be a tacked on thing either, because it'll be the exact same thing as the oblivion arena. It would make it more interesting after you've completed the arena "quests" because you wouldn't be fighting the same AI over and over.

5.) a henchmen co-op system would be neat. Me and my friends like to sit around and play games together, and when we play single player games we either watch each other or plug in a bunch of tvs and consoles and play separately. It would be neat if my friend could take the role of a hired henchmen just so he could participate in the fights. Not a full fledged co op, like he brings his character over. Just as a merc or something, like the one you can get in mournhold.

6.) Enhanced stealth features. Things like smoke bombs, dash moves, etc would be awesome. I would like to see improved AI, so they dont go from calm to alerted immediately. Also, a cover system would be nice. It wouldnt be useful for anything else, but it would help to be able to cling up to walls and move along them. And dash over doorways and such. Could make playing a stealth character even more rewarding.

I'll stop at that.

1) Game pause in such way that it is possible to take screenshots with camera with XBox.

2) More in-game options to personalize character to match your current social status in the game world. For example, you could start the game as a filthy low-class thief, but when you would be an arch-mage, you probably would like to have more decent appearance. Even thought I don't play role, I still try to act "correctly" to improve immersion - for example, wearing finer clothes when meeting high class NPC. So, more clothes. Maybe wigs, too, and maybe barder to change your hairstyle, depending on your current social position in the game.

Maybe you would get tattoos in some factions to mark your current position? Being an elite fighter you would get a tattoo to your shoulder like navy seals and other special forces.

3) Hopefully companions are useful, and somewhat controllable. If so, that would add a whole new dimension to game play strategies, as you wouldn't need to do all by yourself.

4) Multiple enchantments to one apparel, e.g. choosing one more powerful enchants, or two or three weaker ones, to tailor your equipment to your needs and acquired in-game enchants. Especially for using suits (covering e.g. your hands and feets, too) it would be useful to get as many enchants as wearing single pieces.

5) Other possibility: having tailor in the game, attaching multiple apparel together to form one. Of course, improvements in (console) user interface could help this, but it would still be neat to change between your battle armor, casuals and regalia with one single selection.

1. Interesting areas and unique dungeons
2. Lot's of unique loot to decorate my house
3. More ways to edit your house, such as extra display cases or shelves
4. Better conversations with NPC's
5. Dark Brotherhood
6. BETTER LEVELING SYSTEM!!!!
7. Ability to play as a Werewolf
8. Seasons
9. Ability to craft your own custom weapons
10. Medium armor and Spears
EDIT:
11. Reduced and/or no level scaling besides main boss fights and such, I agree with many of the people on this thread, I don't want every bandit I see wearing Deadric armor by end game, it's rediculous! Yes high level Deadra enemies in difficult dungeons should wear it but not your average pickpocket or mercenary in a town!

There are no seasons, but there's a fall forest in the southeast and the weather gets colder and rougher when you climb to higher altitudes.

A to B issues: how can travelling be resolved to keep everyone happy?
there have to be regular trade caravans between all towns and cities, so why not use them as part of the game mechanic

options/possibilities
1 fast travel (not available in hardcore mode)
2 pay your way: you arrive from A to B safely, without incident, for a fee
3 earn your passage, you travel the journey in real time as a caravan guard, there's an increased chance of 'incident', but you are paid a fee and get to fight - what's not to like?
4 teleport, earned through mages guild associations and other supernatural shenanigans

not really a wishlist item, more a fix

dont agree - enchanted clothes are often far better than armour, lighter, no need for repairing and more protecive, even without sigil stones - beth are very fashion conscious - armour is a lifestyle choice, nothing more

repairing is gone in Skyrim.
