This is a small thing, but I really want there to be a really high point, like Dive Rock, but with a lake underneath it. And not just that, but also the ability to go into a dive animation.

How cool would it be do dive into a small lake from the top of the highest mountain in the game?

I guess I want this just because the first time I was at Dive Rock in Oblivion, I actually thought there was water underneath it and jumped off. That didn't end well.

It'd be nice to get a Fallout New Vegas style hardcore mode. For RPing purposes.

Something i'd love is a moon cycle. partly so there could be rituals and spells and quests surrounded by this fetter but mainly so there could be a new race of creature. WEREWOLVES! just think of it. you're wondering the wilderness looking for the last ingredient for a potion and you here the rapid patter of paws hitting the ground and you turn around to see a seven foot tall wolf-man ready to devour you whole. better yet there'd be citizens that are werewolves and they must lock themselves in their basements at the full moon. and killing them would result in a murder count.

becoming a werewolf would either be done by a quest where some god or goddess like nocturnem would simply curse you and a short 3rd person video would come up of you painfully becoming a werewolf finishing with the cliché close up of your angry eyes. the cure would be a religious ritual not a potion and it would involve wolf-bane i guess.

also i want to see more citizens who are vampires and who are kinda open about it. this would cause conflict and could even have a random event in it. people brawling in the streets after some one was accused of being a vampire. it would be fun to see that because it would give the world even more color.

also i would want to see people attempt to rob you. i.e. pickpocket you and take like 10 coins off your person.

There is a camping mod in oblivion called "Camping" and it isn't very hard to use but it has a lot of features so I think it camping could easily make it into Skyrim

Since you could do that in Oblivion and it didn't affect any major aspects of gameplay, plus the fact that it isn't hard to implement, in Skyrim they are sure to do it and may even let you poison food and drink.

I would like to see camping as well in Skyrim. Would be really cool and convenient to be able to plop a tent down in the middle of the wilderness as a bit of safe haven.

Also, I see that you are new zythe, welcome to the forums. In the future, it's generally better to edit your post to add something else rather than to double post. You should go introduce yourself in the Welcomes and Goodbye thread over in General and make sure you read the rules. Again, Welcome!

Todd howard said there'd be more NPC interaction with thee world so they'd be doing more than just walking around. but what i want to see is them drinking from goblets and eating from plates that are infront of them. that would be so much more interesting especially cause then you could put things that the person is allergic to onto the plate.

also i would like to see dwarven cities. like the mines of Moria. they'd have pumps and pipes every where that have the daedric letters geth (g) neht (n) doht (d) neht (n). as a reference to star trek.

Hi there,

So, I've only read about the first 3 pages of this, but these are some of the ones I haven't noticed on there (or, if I have, I really enjoyed the idea and want to reinforce it.)

First- Grappling hooks. It may seem like nothing, but it would add a whole new element to stealth. Let's say you have a large castle, where you're working for whatever assassin's guild is available in Skyrim (or you just work as a freelance murderer), and your contract is to kill the master/son/guard/anything that lives inside of it. Well, if it's a private castle, you can't just walk right in. You'd need to be registered as there. People would know you're there, and you'd be the main suspect. However, if you can scale the walls and enter undetected, well, it's pretty self explanatory. Also, though I play on the PC for most TES games, I played Oblivion on the XBox 360 quite frequently. This being the case, it was frustrating the few times I found myself stuck. Skyrim, being the rocky mountain that it is, I expect will be filled with a number of falls, and with the jagged rock formations, it is entirely possible that you'll be stuck in that area. If there's already a way to debug yourself or climb out in progress, wonderful. However, a grappling hook could easily solve that problem. Furthermore, it would just be a nice fail-safe. Let's say you're unsure of the way to an area, or you're a low level player, and the path splits to two areas you see dragons, but you know that right down the center is a valid option, if only you had a way to get over that mountain/small rock formation. Well, congratulations. Your hide was just saved by a simple invention of a rope with a metal thing at the end. Which brings me to another point- realism. Clearly there would be these in that time. It bugged me hugely about what was left out of Oblivion. Especially in terms of weapons, but other things too (content is a big one, also). Just for these simple reasons I think grappling hooks would make the game just that much more diverse. Of course, make it difficult, but don't rule it out as making the game too easy. And DON'T set it so that you can only use it in certain places. That would be one of the most annoying things I could imagine in this game.

Next, a bit more info for the quests you're doing. I don't want to magically know that, from the information that there's an NPC in the inn in <insert Skyrim city here>, exactly who it is, where he lives, and perfect information on him. I want the NPC's to tell me his profession, where he is in the morning, where he eats lunch, whatever. If I have to get this information from multiple NPC's, all the better. Is he a farmer? Is he working at 5:00 am? Also, I don't want to know his name unless I ask. Don't just display it and everything's fine. Make me ask. All I want is to make sure that the realism is at it's best. But please, no psychic abilities in Skyrim. That goes for the guards also. Especially the guards, but I have high hopes for that, given how it was released that they have a nice crime system, so I'm assuming they fixed it.

Oh, and non-good cities(?). I really want to be able to say, if I'm gonna be an evil [&@%!], I want to know that if I go around slaughtering a town, I can hide out in another one with a bunch of mass murderers that share my hobby. If I'm an assassin, lead me to an underground cult where everybody's just like me, can hint me off on new jobs, share rumors about targets that no-one can kill. Let me show off a bit. Evil cities would help. And with those evil cities, more guilds. If I could have joined the Morag Tong and helped bring down the fall of the Empire in Oblivion, that would have been amazing. Please, for the love of all things good (or not), make more evil cities. Not cities, though, as cities are always run by guards (but maybe make the officers in charge corrupt?), but make small towns and things like that hideaways for the evil player. Oh, and if I sleep for a month in my shack in one of these towns and drink nothing but beer and eat nothing but steak, I want to be fat. Don't make it too difficult to become bloated (*cough* Fable 2 *cough*), but definitely make it so that if you leave an unhealthy lifestyle, it's gonna come back and get you. Did I mention realism?

And, finally, one that I'm pretty sure will not be an issue, but I want to reinforce anyways. No generic NPC's. No single actor playing half the voices all the time, no people that look the exact same. I play Oblivion muted due to the same voice thousands of times in succession. Differences. Huge differences, not just a different hairstyle. Hell, add facial blemishes, make the guy have a wart on his hand, cheek, w/e. Windy day? Guy just comes into tavern? Mess up his hair until he fixes it later. But please, please, please, new voice actors. Hundreds of voice actors. Not just for essential NPC's either. I'd prefer it if every NPC had a different voice, but I'd settle for the same voice used on two different NPC's throughout the entire game. Highly aggressive NPC's too. If some bandit is charging at me with a giant battleaxe and a full set of orcish armour, give him a voice that suits, but make it different than all the others. Suspend my disbelief.

Thanks for reading, and I hope that at least a few of these get into the game. Support if you like. Oh, and don't make max difficulty too impossible., as I will be playing that on my first run through, and don't feel like getting one-hit by a nearby dragon that just happens to nip me with a bit of fire.

I am most likely going to reiterate a lot of points already mentioned, but I hope you can understand I am not going to sit here for an hour or so reading all 40+ pages.

Nonetheless, what I would love to see in Skyrim are:

Family/Relationship Possibilities - Now I don't mean marriage and that far in depth into relationships, but just the basic possibility of being able to "relate" to some NPC in the game, buying a house and getting them to live with you. Now even if this is only to make my seemingly huge houses that tiny bit more... lived in and realistic, it would please me no ends. [I am one of those people who play GTA and adhere to red lights and other lawful actions, because I like things close to reality]. Children can also come under this, not necessarily mine, but just seeing them. I think this is confirmed however.

Linked Holidays/Calendar Events - Now in other games, such as Daggerfall and Morrowind, certain days of the year were described as holidays, be it for particular Gods, War Rememberance days and so on, but I would just like to see NPC's celebrate this in some way on that date. Change their routine for the day, have the option to talk about it... I am not sure but just something that adds to the reality factor.

Variation In Months - This coincides with my last point, but briefly, I would like winter to show it's Winter with added snowfall, Autumn to have lush browny-yellow forests, spring to be filled with new life and so on, but I understand this is very demanding of me.

More Random Encounters - But not too random. I don't want a spaceship to blow up above me and rain down glowing balls of metal and a musket firearm that kills everything, but just moderate random encouters. Maybe a random battle between Nords fighting to remain in the Empire and those fighting to depart from imperialist rule, or a lone wanderer in need of aid. Just give me that "I didn't expect that" feel.

More Weapons (GIVE ME MY SPEARS BACK) - I loved spears. But anyway, I would like more weapons and more variation in particular weapons. I don't want my silver longsword to look like the same longsword that guard over there has! I want mine to look different with worn grips and chipped bits from where I crushed so many bosmer skulls! Not only would I like to see more weapons in general, but with the weapons there are, unique appearances of each weapon would be nice [to a certain limit ofcourse, not EVERY weapon]. (I think I saw this a bit with the hunting rifle in fallout, or I was hallucinating).

The Empire - Not a lot to say here. I just hope the empire, or what is left of it, make an appearance. I was deeply saddened when I heard it receeded after Martin, I just hope you have the ability in Skyrim to maintain it's very existence, but no more Septim heir appearances [as much as I would be so happy to know the Septims still exist, it would be kinda cheesy].

BUT that's my rant over, I'm sure it will be an epic game either way, just this would be nice. I#m sure I'll think of more suggestions anyway, and apologies for any spelling errors, I hadn't properly checked.

I'm going to confirm or deny anything I can.

More Random Encounters - Radiant AI? But, nevertheless, I'm sure there will be many random encounters.

More Weapons (GIVE ME MY SPEARS BACK) - Confirmed.

The Empire - Likely, but no evidence.

You're welcome.

Can I get a source for that? I know Todd has said that weather will be much more dynamic than in Oblivion. Snowstorms on mountains and the like. I haven't heard anything about seasons.

I would like to see acrhetype oriented quests outside of factions. For instance having a few assassination quests that aren't in any way related to the DB.

No Psychic guards!!! - if you commit a crime outside in the wilderness, with no one around, a guard in the city shouldn't know about it!

Morality? - when you chose an evil speech option in oblivion (for instance, [laugh in his face] on the go fish quest) you didn't get anything from it. Perhaps there could be a fallout-esque system that tells you how evil you are for laughing at a man who can't kill fish.

Main quest choices - The main quest on Oblivion had no choice at the ending (or the middle or start) as to what happens. You should be able to change the results of the main quest from carnage to perfect harmony.

More random people - I think they're doing this with radiant AI; someone could come up to you and give you a quest in one playthrough, but they wouldn't necessarily in another. Adds variation & replayablility (if that's a word)

Oh, one more thing, no snow that follows you around!!!

Yeah heaps of things I want in the game but i'm not gonna write a novel about it XD

One thing that's really on the back of my mind though is Alchemy. One of my favored skills in previous games, but I really hope its drastically improved this time round. Some of the ways I feel it could be made better would be to give the player more control over the potions. For example instead of have a potion that's restore health 3points for 20 seconds, allow the player to choose a stronger amount for a shorter time, like 9 points for 5 seconds, so the overall potion would get weaker but be delivered faster. Similar to the way you make spells in Oblivion. Also as you gain level you should be able to modify your potion more in this way, like you are getting more control. I also noticed in Oblivion that at higher levels you would see more effects from each ingredient, but I found that should be the other way around, like as you get better you are able to control what goes into your potions more. So at a low level you don't really have the knowledge to make a good potion so it automatically puts all the effects in, good and bad. Then as you get better and more skillful at potion making you can remove the undesired effects and choose only what you want in it. I also think when you are making potions they should have the chance to fail at low levels like in Morrowind.

Custom enchanted weapons inflicting magical effects instantly(or at least the option to have a weapon inflict magical effects instantly). That is, none of this "Fire Damage 50 pts for 1 second" and instead just "Fire Damage 50 pts".

I disagree. A long, weak enchantment should be possibly.

Of course they should be a possiblity and they will be. What I wish for is enchanting a magical effect that acts instantly as well.
