Hmm. It looks like I can run it on medium-high, or so. But I'm not an expert.

I don't even know what graphics card I have, or my system specs for that matter. How do I find out?

Hmm, it says DirectX9c, but I hope there's settings for DirectX 10-11.

Also, I'll be hitting Ultra settings easily.

Intel Core i5 CPU M480 @ 2.67 GHz
2.00 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GT 420M
Windows 7, 64-Bit

I'm not really good with pc gaming, so could anyone give me an idea of what setting I will be able to play at? I'm guessing med/high, but I'd be happy with medium alone. I can play Shogun II: Total War on ultra settings smoothly, if that's anything to go by, although they are very different games...

If someone could help me, I'd much appreciate it. :)

Get more RAM, (it's cheap and 2GB is no where near enough), and you should be comfortable to play on medium-high.

Thanks for that, Spiney. :)

Would 4GB be sufficient?

Hey, I'm pretty much new here (Been checking the forum daily for information but never actually made an account until now). So anyway what I really need to know is if my laptop I got for college will be able to run the game on the minimal settings or not. I highly suspect that it won't be able to, but I need that definitive "no" so I don't end up wasting money to buy the game just to try it out. (by the way I don't exactly know what information I need so I'm just gonna post what I think you might)
My specs are:
64 bit windows 7
Intel I7-2630 QM Quad core 2.0 GHz
8 GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce GT555M Graphics card

Hahaha you should have NO problem running this game. You'll even be able to use the higher graphics settings. Impressive stats for a laptop, btw

Will my game be able to run on max setting? I am fine with 30 FPS, though 60 would be great :)

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13GHz
Ram: 6.00 GB
GFX Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 (Brand new, just got it like..last week)
OS: Windows 7, 64-Bit
Hard Drive Memory: More than enough ;)

That be my computers specs, might need to buy more ram : / It seems to be pretty cheap nowadays anyway.

IIRC it was mentioned in one of Todd's interviews that DX11 won't be required, but if you have a DX11 card you will be able to take advantage of some DX11 optimization features implemented in Skyrim.

Hay Booty :)

I know the interview your talking about booty, it was a little misleading.

What Todd actually meant is all Directx 10 and 11 cards have optimized code built in as standard, improvements over older cards basically that benefits directx9 games as well. Skyrim does not contain any optimizations for anything other than directx 9 because if it did, it would not work on the consoles.

Its the newer hardware that runs stuff better than older cards basically.

The only improvement you will see over oblivion in terms of graphics is from the higher textures being implemented because there is more ram on the graphics cards on the PC these days.

Which means it will be a little like a morrowind texture pack.... a bit of a let down considering what directx10 and 11 can do these days.

These specs don't seem to be pushing PCs at all, probably so the consoles can keep up. I should be able to run Skyrim on much more than Ultra-maxed-out settings, bit of a let down really, but hopefully someone will come along with a Graphics Overhaul or something.

They said they won't be bothering with 10-11 much.

Are you sure? The reason I ask is I don't want to end up dropping money on an awesome game and then realize my comp can run it like what happened with SC2 on my old comp. Every time someone posts about pc specs (even the lower ranking ones) seem to blow mine a way in terms of graphics cards and processor speed. If what you say is true and I could run this game, even on lower settings, you will have literally just made my week.

You'll probably have some problems because of your processor. You've got more than enough RAM and that graphics card seems quite decent. I think you'll be able to run the game on Medium smoothly and on High with the occasional stutter.

A quick aside, since I read through a lot of Steam-related talk: you guys might be interested in knowing that we recently started a UESP forums Steam group, so don't be afraid to check out this thread!
