As long as it doesn't exceed 100mb like BF3's day one patch, I don't mind at all.

the game has not yet been released, but it has already been patched. Marvelous.

At least it means that they are finding their problems and trying to fix them...

Good to see they're determined to get rid of all the glitches ASAP... Even though out of all the journalists who have written about the game, glitches were virtually not spoken about... which is excellent

Exactly. I'd rather patches asap, than later on. They're on top of it.

Yay! They actually fixed the problems(or patched the game)! Good job!

Would you rather they didn't patch at all?

How long after Oblivion was released was the unofficial patch released on PC? The one that fixes all of the bugs that I see referenced on the UESP a lot.
Add that time to 11-11-11 if you think they should release a perfect game

I dont see the problem with a day 1 patch at all. This is the world we live in nowadays when it comes to games. Developing and testing for every single bug on every single console before release is a complicated affair, there's no way they could catch everything in time. It's not like they're developing a SNES game.

I'm both happy that they are fixing it but sad that it was in there in the first place. But hey, nobody's perfect.

good old days...
Yeah, with how complicated it is getting I would be surprised if they didn't already find some, I'm sure that for the next few months/years we will keep on getting new patches for it, I actually hope so, because there are always bugs to be fixed in games.

Keep in mind that Skyrim is also going to be making use of a similar system that the COD games have been using. A direct connection so that they can release smaller patches on the fly. I think this will be the most "well taken care" of game in terms of patches, from Bethesda, ever.

Xbox 360 updates the patches automatically right?

it says a download is reddy IIRC but its been so long...

Yes. Both PS3 and Xbox360 will prompt you when you start the game as long as your connected to either Xbox Live or PSN respectively.
I think a day one patch is great, it shows Bethesda wrapped development and began bug testing the final code and still had enough time to submit a patch and have it approved for the 11th.

I have no problem that they release a patch on the day of the release. I think it is just as great as you guys. However I wouldn't mind if they didn't release a patch to fix bugs. Most bugs will probably be fixed by "Unofficial Skyrim Patch" anyway

i would rather have a day one patch then pushing back the games release, they probably just had to make the call, take what we have n ship it, FOR the 11th, or postpone n send fans into a frenzy, im glad we are just getting the game, but it was probably done to the best possible quality they could get it before sending it out to be mass produced, i just hope certain thing *hint* *hint* dont get patched out, cuz we couldnt wait n had to put our hand in the cookie jar

Unlike Ubisoft with Assassin's creed brotherhood. That game was super glitchy, and I mean game breaking ones too.

I don't want to sound like an idiot, but do you have to connect to xbox live everytime you play or just to install the patch?

Chances are the game was already Gold before they found or fixed the bugs.
I don't know why day 1 patching is bad, there's a lot of other games that would benefit from such things.

I don't recall ever having played a game on xbox360 that didn't download a patch the first time i popped it in.

Buddy was probably, correct in the other thread, then (can't remember who or which, lol) that the "going gold" announcement last week was that they'd finished the patch and had it submitted, as well. Glad to see they're taking care of this stuff pre-release as opposed to the New Vegas fiasco last year (even though that was Obsidian doing the development).
