This is something I posted on the vogons forum dosbox section in hopes of finding a solution but after 3 days of trying I'm close to giving up on getting this to work and sticking to the software version. Then maybe I'll take a pink bubblebath and watch the golden girls....This is what I've done so far, based on what little info I could find, maybe they can be of help to anyone else trying to get this working and hopefully come to a solution.

-Installed Redguard
-Moved files in the install directory to "D:\Games\PC\TESIIA - Redguard\Redguard"

-Extracted Redguard2.bin/cue - from play disk
-to "D:\Games\PC\TESIIA - Redguard\Redguard\playCD"

-Extracted Ykhwong's DOSbox build to "D:\Games\PC\TESIIA - Redguard"

-Deleted glide2x.dll that came with dosbox

-Installed nGlide 1.01

-Confirmed
Code:
animation_drive=d:\
in SYSTEM.INI

-Tweaked dosbox.conf
Code:
-fullscreen=true
-memsize=63
-cputype=pentium_mmx

-Configured sound
Code:
mount c ".\Redguard\sound"
c:
setsound

-General/midi set to Sound Blaster 16 with automatic values.

Time to play?

Code:
mount c ".\Redguard"
imgmount d ".\Redguard\playCD\Redguard-cd2.cue" -t iso
c:
rgfx

"Critical Disk Error, Redguard can not run."

NOPE.

Not sure if Dosbox handles spaces in directories/file names? I'd keep to the old DOS standard of max. 8 letters and no spaces.

Have you tried following the instructions here?: http://uesp.net/wiki/General:Playing_DO ... x#Redguard

Also I see an "ISO" in your commands. CD-Roms don't have ISOs. Are you using an authentic version of the game?

The problem it seems was, like people were telling me, a problem with file names and placements. And that Redguard looks for a subdirectory in "C". So...
Code:
mount c "."
imgmount d .\cd\Redguard-cd2.cue -t iso
c:
cd\game
rgfx

And it works like a charm!
Well, sound does stutter at loading, but every game I play through dosbox does.

Thanks.

imgmount? ISO? cue?

This is a pirated version of the game, so I'm locking and archiving.
