So, The Tom just got promoted to Tea Party Mod, on account of how busy we foresee the forums being in months to come. Also, I think we've all missed having some pink around here.

Seriously, though, with great pinkness comes great responsibility. I, well, to be honest this came out of the most deep blue anyone's ever known, and...

I'd like to make a speech, if I may. It's the only way I feel I can concisely express what I have to say.

When I joined this oasis of the internet in October of 2009, I remember being hopelessly bemused by this dog-obsessed guy with a pink name. 'What's his job?' I thought. 'Why is he so weird?' Now it's all apparent to me - this whole thing is so strange. There are extra buttons, extra pages, extra everything. No wonder the Dog-man was such a strange person. I say this because I know the first month or so of pinkness is going to be a little tough on my mental strength. I'll probably say things that I'll have to quickly edit out or accidentally lock the 'What are you listening to?' thread or similar. So, I suppose I'm asking that you bear with me as I find my feet. The other greenies have been doing this for a while, and I trust all of them to be understanding and helpful, even Dean. And I know I can extend that trust to the rest of the forum. And that is why I feel safe, even as my mind already begins to break from the oddity.

And besides, nothing can go wrong, because TPM is just one letter away from TOM.

Heh, when I came online today, I saw one of Tom's posts, and I was like, "Oh lawd! Pink! Where did all that come from?" I thought I'd write and congratulate him, but then I was afraid that maybe he'd won a competition that I didn't notice, and they were a reward or something.
And then I found this thread. So I guess it's alright to congratulate him now.

I saw his name in pink when I first got on, and I could feel the gears turning in my head... took a while, but I finally processed that he got premoted.
