A while ago, we were given the idea of making sub-forums for Morrowind and Oblivion dedicated to fan art. We thought this was rather clever, so after a bit of banter in our top secret moderator forum, we can propose this; Instead of sub-forums, we'll create a whole new shiny section right next to the Lore forum. This will be the place to post anything you've made that relates to the Elder Scrolls, be it fan-fics, poetry, drawings, etc. The only drawback we can see is that it may take some activity from the already existing Art forum, so we'd like everyones opinion on this. And before anyone asks; Yes, post count will be enabled in this forum.

This poll will run for 7 days, and the result will help decide if we make this or not. We encourage everyone to use their vote.

I say yes :D
Although Codex is right about the Art forum, I still think that it will remain active, because much of its content is not TES-related (like fan art related to other universes, or individual fiction).

Why do we have an art forum not dedicated to Elder Scrolls? :)
I think it's a good idea, I don't know if I'll post, since most my art is definitely not 13-year-old friendly.

I'm not artistic or anything, so I wouldn't post anything there. But it would be awesome to see what other people will create. I vote Yes. :D

Yes great idea! I'm trying to get into drawing and the like and the TES Universe is so full of things to take inspiration from and I want to get into it more.
This is a good thing, no question about it.

I voted No, that stuff belongs in the Art section and shouldn't get it's own forum. I thought the original idea was to get rid of some of the sections? like the tech desk?

We did consider one thread, but then we couldn't really throw fiction and art into one thread without it being a bit of a large mess, and it doesn't leave room for small competitions like there have been.
Why we are seperating them from the arts section... well we hope to encourage more people to participate in the TES-related stuff, perhaps giving the forum a bit more life. The few threads we already have seem a bit lost in the back.

Okay Caz, you make a fair point. Competition and the such are always fun for everyone and good for the forum, I think I'll change my vote on this one.

Actually just thought, what will done about the music topics in the Art section? There isn't really loads of activity in the Art forum for things to get lost. I don't think it will get any-more activity and it will just take away from people posting in the actual game threads.

I'm so bloomin indecisive...

All we're basically doing is creating room for something that hasn't really existed until now, because we want to promote it. The arts thread shall still be used for all things non-tes related, of which there are plenty I think?

I won't be able to post anything other than comments (and believe me, I really wish I could post my art as well), but I'll vote yes as well.

I voted no, mainly because I think there's enough post spamming as it is, and another place to increase your post count would not only take action away from The Arts, but also increase unneeded topics IMO. Also, I think your post count should only increase when you post things relevant and helpful to other members. Fan art/fiction, to me, does not do that.

Vivec has a point, surely this won't count towards the post count thing? people will just be typing 'good work' after each submission. Spam much? bad idea.

I think this is a great idea. :) I love to draw, and a section for fanart would help others find it more easily, and maybe even get some critique on their works from other fans.
