Ho ho, the Steam Summer sale is here. I've got quite a few games I'm keeping my eye on.

Same here, I think I'm going to let that money fly though.

@Hail - The Witcher 2 is fantastic, get it as soon as you can.

So, is anyone else not surprised by the results of the UESP Facebook poll about which is the quintessential TES game?

Yes, the rest of the series after Daggerfall is just garbage.

Seems most of the dedicated fans have their heads in the right place.
That is, regarding Morrowind.

I'm a little sad Daggerfall didn't get more attention.

Thinking about picking up Witcher 2 in the sale. Is it any good?

I would say that you do need a decent computer to run it. I bought it last sale and, even with all the settings turned all the way down, it is nigh unplayable.

Thanks Aarah! Works great. Now I can have my farfetch'd as my pokemon.

It's something about Vocaloid or maybe luck. I don't know.

It's based on a Japanese idiom about farfetched unlikely occurrences.

"A duck comes bearing green onions."

You know when I first played Pokémon red the old gameboy and first ran into farfetch'd I thought it was a hockey stick that he was holding. It wasn't til I saw him in an episode at the safari zone that I realized he was holding a branch (as I called it back then). A leek sounds much better than a branch too btw.

Too bad that lil bird and his onion never got that much needed evolution or two. I mean he would make for an interesting flying/fighting type, certainly be different. Personally, these two fanmade evolutions I find rather fitting, credited to different artists though

Not too surprising, that's the way nostalgia works. Any series that a person has been playing for a very extended amount of time through his or her life normally results in them favoring the earlier titles. It's their first experience with the series, the game world, and that unique Elder Scrolls style in general. Generally the first experience a person has with something they love is their most memorable, not only because they love it, but in this case also because everything is brand new to them, from the gameplay to the leveling system. In this Elder Scrolls example, another factor might be that they were much younger when they played Morrowind, allowing a sort of childlike wonderment when exploring the game's open world.

All these pokemon around are actually making me learn things about pokemon.

There is lots of humour to found:

"Farfetch'd is always seen carrying a leek stalk or spring onion. It is selective about which sticks it will use, and has been known to fight over good ones." Just like people in the supermarket it seems.

I've never had to fight with someone in a supermarket. I just give a cold stare into their eyes and wait for the fear to set in.

How short is it? Bob, crop, skin-head?

On a side note: I have never seen the forums so quiet. :(

The game sub-forums are pretty busy, actually. It's just the General threads that are slow. That's kind of how it's supposed to be at an ES site, though, right? :D
