AS a matter of fact I did actual consider making one of those (had to do a google search). But as I have to sharpen the thing and have only moderate sharpening skills at best on straight blades, it seemed a little daunting to do so many curves. Also I prefer the tilde sort of look (~), like most Elven swords. Which is kinda odd for me because I almost down right despise elves. Stupid pompous pin heads. Dwarves FTW!

Wow, there's a life changing paradox. And to think I liked the Dwemer. I might now have my first real legit reason to have any sort of ill feeling towards Bethesda and TES: mixing dwarves and elves. How despicable! What an abomination!

A question.

Do you prefer Dwarfs or Dwarves? For me it's Dwarves.

I wasn't aware there was a difference. I knew about elfs and elves, but for dwarves/drawfs too? What's the difference? Tolkien's dwarves and gnomes respectively?

I believe they were called Dwarfs first but then Tolkein, being a genius, decided that Dwarves was better.

Not t omention i think it is a technical error in spelling (according to English that is) to be spelt: d-w-a-r-f-s. But treading foggy water there.

you got a pic of that Stormborn? never played/read/whatever Dune so I don't know what it looks like.

Venger, have you tried making something more... dark-themed? A straight-bladed dagger, maybe?

You didn't know the Dwemer were elves?

Not short either, they were supposedly nicknamed dwarves by a breed of giants and they stuck with it. They do sport some impressive beards, though.

No, dwarfs refers to real people. Dwarves to fantasy people.

Ahem. I would just like to say, CAWFEE.

And, I idolise dwarves. Tolkien's dwarves were the perfect race, in my eyes. By far less flawed than the Elves.

Technically, it is dwarfs. That is the proper spelling. At least in England it is.

No. Dwarves is correct if you refer to the fantasy people. Dwarfs if you are referring to people with dwarfism.

Yes, someone with my goddang "English accent" can't say CAWFEE.

I can't believe that there's an argument about how to spell words defining two different things.

Considered a dagger, but defintely never a dark theme. To me knives represent a sort of harsh beauty: graceful yet deadly. Neat flowing lines not only cut better but, IMO, look a heck of a lot better. Maintaining a harsh, geometric, Dwarvish design never entered my mind. And at least in my head, their is no blade that is dark. it is a tol that, yes, does inflict harm and draw blood, but only because it was meant to. it does not enjoy not lust for blood.

...

Never knew that I ascribed a sort of personality to what I thought the perfect knife. Weird...

Anyway, dagger are actually hard. Normally a dagger is any two edge blade, which is far harder to properly sharpen, as at least four different axis have to meet in perfect unison, whereas it is only one. true sharpening a curve has its challenges too, but far less so, to me, than it is than a dagger.

@POMC: i thought they were called "little-people" or "pigmies".
@Cowley: yeah but how the English do things has never been a real good jumping point, what with living in a bog and being English and stuff. (humorous attempt at a false negative-based bias towards brits. In reality I think them very amusing and find nothing wrong with them. This is a disclaimer.)
