When I do a Google search for various Skyrim terms, Google typically returns elderscrollsDOTwikiaDOTcom as the top 1 or 2 results when I'm logged in, if that makes a difference. I much prefer UESP to Wikia, so I'd like to know if there is any way to have Google rank UESP as the #1 result for me. I remember several years ago, you could click a button to essentially vote a result up or down iirc. I can't remember if that was for everyone, or if it was just for you when you are logged in, but that option is gone regardless. I use Firefox and I have the Greasemonkey addon installed if that helps. It has become annoying having to look past the Wikia results every time.

I don't even understand the point of the Wikia. The UESPWiki was here before, contains far more, and has far more reliable information. The Wikia has stuff that not only is never seen or true of the TES universe, but has several pages filled with fan art depicted as if it were official art.

Just thinking out loud- Does typing in 'uesp' after whatever you're googling help?

You can search a specific site (uesp.net in this case) by typing "site:uesp.net" (no quotes) after your search terms. It will search only the domain you specify.

Like Aarah, simply typing 'uesp' will usually make sure you get what you're looking for.

I finally looked around and found a Firefox search plugin for UESP. That helps a little. Why I didn't just type 'uesp' after my search term is baffling. It does seem that Google may be beginning to learn my usage though. I'm starting to see UESP results sometimes appear at #1 with wikia at #2, but not always, or it could be random or something else entirely that causes it. I occasionally find something useful on wikia, but I agree with most of what Rezalon said about the site.

I also just now found this: support-DOT-mozilla-DOT-org/en-US/kb/how-search-from-address-bar
That method works well, and I also found that I can do the same keyword thing using the UESP search plugin without making a bookmark. In Firefox, click on the search drop-down menu and then choose "manage search engines". Select the UESP engine to highlight it, click on "edit keyword" and put in whatever you want; I went with "U". Now, if I type "u faralda" in the address bar, it takes me to the UESP search results as if I had done the search from the search box on the UESP site.

Too bad the UESP search doesn't really return relevant results though. It says "The page "Faralda" does not exist". Her page isn't even on the first page of results. That's just a quirk of the UESP search I guess. You have to search for "skyrim:faralda" to find her page. It would be nicer if it could figure out that I'm wanting her page by just searching for "faralda". In that regard, you get the best result by doing a standard Google search for "faralda uesp", which returns her UESP page as the top result.
