No it isn't.

There are currently no services for games though. Nvidia GRID is supposed to be released, but there's still no release date.

"If it hasn't been invented, then it must be impossible."

And why discourage OP from looking for a way to make an external CPU a reality?

I barely even know what cloud is even though I hear all the time. That joke flew right over my head. Guess it shows how irrelevant I am to the debate. I do, however, get what Tezliov is saying (about the specs, not the cloud so much). He keeps repeating himself and yes, I get it. I'm attempting to find a way around it that might not even exist yet. Using little old creativity here. Regardless, I definitely learned more about technology in the past week than I have in the last year. I'm not tech savvy in the least. Seriously. I thought RAM and Ghz were the same thing. Yeah... might be a while before external cpu comes along...but it will. Trust me.

I actually had written something addressing it, erased it, and tried re-writing it. I apparently forgot to include it again though.

Because it's not possible. Not with current speeds. USB will likely never be as fast as a processor.

RAM actually does have measurements in GHZ, but they're irrelevant usually unless you're using an integrated GPU.

Don't use USB. Problem solved.

A processor's speed is weighted in terms of clock speed. A USB's speed is weighted in terms of data bandwidth. "USB will likely never be as fast as a processor" is a meaningless statement, like comparing the length of a rope to the length of a movie. What you may have meant was that USBs will never be as fast as the system bus connecting the CPU to the RAM. Currently, that is the case as I pointed out a few posts ago.

There is no other input on the outside of the computer.

Which is what I meant. You just pointed out that it's impossible to make one at a decent speed and now you're arguing with me agreeing with you.

I did not. "Impossible" is a very strong word that you're throwing around a lot. A hypothetical external CPU need not be connected via a USB port either. The only reason I mentioned the USB first was because OP compared his hypothetical external CPU with a flash drive.

Is it impossible to make a laptop with an external PCIe interface that connects to another PCIe interface which houses a CPU? i.e An external CPU that connects via the PCIe port? Then spread the workload of a process across these two CPUs?

Spoiler:
It's not impossible.

Name one other input that could house such an external CPU.
Oh wait. USB is the only input on the outside besides audio.

Then make a new input. I am just cruising through these "problems".
