Gamepad vs Keyboard and Mouse

What do you prefer and for what games?

Since purchasing an Xbox 360 wired controller I have been using it exclusively for RPGs and FPSs. For RTSs I use mouse and keyboard.

The only non-PC system I've ever had was Gameboy Classic when I was a kid, so I'm completely hopeless at using gamepads. I could get used to different controls, I suppose, but I wouldn't want to use it for anything that uses a lot of hotkeys. I like having a one key access to many options, so gamepad would only work for me with games with very simple interface, I think.

I own a PS3-style controller for PC but I honestly forget to use it. I've gotten used to keyboard and mouse for PC gaming.
