You can watch them as well, sure. But Fruits Basket must be your top priority.

Also, how would you rate Watamote, Clannad, and Toradora? Like, which one should I watch first, and how necessary is it that I watch each of them? Because they're all on my list, but I think that I want to watch Kokoro Connect first.

Clannad(& Clannad After Story) plus Torodora make for wonderful Romance shows, tho to confess <_< I have not seen the entirety of Clannad. At least from general opinion, and of what I experienced.. Clannad hits more at home in the feels n good times, while personally I found Torodora more enjoyable if not from the Tsundere hilarity. So to say this clearly, Torodora should take priority then when your ready for a good feel-trip.. Clannad(& After Story)

Watamote is not a romance anime.. Or a Rom-Com or even a slice of life.. It's a comedy anime >_> a comedy.. That takes great liberty in the portrayal of the protagonist's misfortunes. Namely, in that how she's a quirky and hopeless introvert whom dreams of popularity.. Without really understanding why.

It's cute, it's relatable, and dammit.. It just makes me wanna reach thru and comfort the darn girl >__<
:
Image
Tho I must add.. The reasonings I find this all relatable and my general response is different than to what you expect. It's not so much that I can relate due to being an introvert myself or BC my first year into highschool wasn't as lovely.. But well, more so because the protagonist in oh so many ways reminds me of my old best friend Nakelah :<

An introvert who more than often hid in the back of the class and all too shy to ever speak up.. The same small and petite frame.. And heck.. Even a closet pervert especially with all those books and mangas I kept catching her with :dur: And you know what I did whenever I saw her down or depressed? I will shake her out of it and carry her over my shoulder to have some good laughs. I didn't just push her out of her comfort zone.. No, I always made sure to go back drag that along too <_< (but I'm running on a tangent now, just know there was a reason I was known as the lovable oaf) Point being, I find the show both entertaining and nostalgic due to personal experience. Is it an okay show? Ya, I guess so. Should I say it's an absolute watch? That, I cannot say. Just, try out yourself if you really want

My friend just sent me the Clannad ending theme, and if that isn't the cutest theme song I've ever heard, I don't know what is. So, I'll probably keep Toradora near the top of my list, and save Clannad for when I have some free time.

As for Watamote, that theme appears to explain my life (- the foolish belief that I'll ever be popular).

Introvert - check
Shy - check
Small - check (or so people say)
Closet fujoshi - perhaps

Well, look here. It's me. Will I get around to watching it? Probably, someday. Is watching it a top priority? No. I mean, why watch it when you can live it?

I still really think that you should watch this:

Fine then. *dramatic sigh* I guess that I'll just go find someone else, and force them to watch Fruits Basket instead.

It's not that I wont. I just can't. Unless you can find a way to broadcast the show on Crunchyroll, then, well.. As I said before: No can do

I grieve for you. Funimation does have the first few episodes on Youtube, however, if you're interested.

Tsk. I'd expected as much. I mean, it'd be annoying to only be able to see the first few episodes if you really liked it (which you would, because it's so good). But whatever, one day you'll watch it. And love it. And you'll thank me. Until then, I'll find other anime people to discuss it with.

I made the mistake of saying "Obviously you don't have much experience crushing on animated characters." to my older sister, and the rest of my family heard me say it. Now I'm dealing with the consequences. I never thought that I'd live to see the day where my 11 year-old sister would call me a weeb.

Also, I found out from Anime Planet that I've spent over a week of my life watching anime. I can't say that I have any regrets.

So I started watching Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid just on a hunch.. And while I never held the highest hopes on it's quality, it is still strangely enjoyable. The absurd drunk moments.. The cute moe doing cute moe things, and possibly one of the best bromances I've ever seen(Seriously, if this was a spin-off series, I would watch it)

However, try as I might.. I still can't get over that OP. I literally keep asking myself "Well, this is certainly up-beat" to "The hell am I watching?" Before quickly escalating to "The [&@%!] is going on?!"

Is She, The Ultimate Weapon any good folks? Finally learnt the name of it as the box art is quite memorable. At least, it was something that made me remember it.

I find that the bad anime can be quite memorable for the wrong reasons. Tekken the Anime has the "I. NEVER. GIVE IT UP!" Lee in a very awful and cheesy forced voice towards the end. I do love it when Anime just decides to not care and ramps everything up to 20. They destroyed 11 and the other numbers. Nothing beats a good over the top sword fight or two giant mechas fighting. How the heck has Godzilla not been made into an anime? Gives them the perfect excuse to do overboard with the human stuff. heck, Star Wars would fit into the genre.

I haven't seen that one before. I'd suggest that you check out some reviews if you're interested.

Also, just gonna quickly point out that anime itself isn't actually a genre.

Seriously, the more and more that I see trailers or ADs for the live action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell.. The more and more I dread that their gonna completely ruin it..

Hell.. It already seems their changing the core premise just to make it into a generic underdog action flick..

What it looks like is Robocop. Because police officer who is injured, becomes a cyborg, loses their memory, loses contact with their family and then later tries to regain their memory and get revenge on the people who caused this to happen in the first place is what happens in Robocop. But Robocop is actually a good film and does have themes that aren't just "revenge," it's about gentrification and corporate power under neoliberalism.

There's also the race thing which, it's pretty clear it's being done because Scarlet Johanson brings in those Avengers bucks, not because they want to do an exploration of race as it relates to personal identity. I know Altered Carbon is another Cyberpunk series (which I should read eventually, I should read a lot of things, but apparently it's getting a Netflix series) where people change bodies that does do that. And even if that were their intention (which it isn't) there's far better ways to go about it and they've already made some fundamental changes to the nature of the setting if you did want to explore those themes. The Major's body isn't one of a kind in any other version of Ghost in the Shell, in both Stand Alone Complex and the 1995 film you see bodies which are identical to hers.

My highest possible hopes is for it is to be an okay action film, although I will be in no way surprised if it ends up being terrible. But you know, at least I still have Blade Runner 2049 to be excited for and possibly disappointed by.

Hollywood just doesn't understand what makes an anime film great. Just ask.. Well, any live action adaptation <_<

Seriously tho.. If they wanted something a bit more easy to 'dumb down' and hype up the action.. Mates.. Akira is a thing too ya know

The live action adaptation of Death Note is something I think might be good. Mainly because it's being directed by Adam Wingard who made The Guest, an absolutely phenomenal film and one of the best action-thrillers I've ever seen. It's up there with The Terminator. He also made Your Next and Blair Witch, both of which were very good films.

Also Willem Dafoe is going to be Ryuk. Which is fantastic casting.

Sure, sure.. But did you also know that there was a live action for Fist of the North Star? Before anime even became popular in the west? Before Akira and GiTS hit the screen?

Any shows this season any of yall keeping an eye out for? So far, only AoT & Hero Academia seasons 2 are on my radar. And I guess so too is Alice & Zoroku, but I'm still uncertain on that one

Maybe this season I could catch up with some of the stuff I've missed >_> do a bit of binging

Watching the Record of Lodoss Wars series for the first. I don't know why I didn't watch this sooner. Totally recommended for ES fans.

Jean and Marco were made for each other goddammit!

Speaking of Attack on Titan, I started the new series tonight. It's two episodes in at the moment. And it's good, I haven't read the manga, but I liked Season 1 and the Hange Zoe and Levi OVAs were really strong. There are a lot of 'oh, mysteries, what could the answer be?" in the first two episodes, which is fine, mysteries are a big part of the show and what drives it. I just hope they do resolve them eventually instead of just adding more and more and never resolving anything before the franchise stops being a cash cow and unceremoniously ends or gets canceled, like Heroes or Lost or tonnes of American TV to be honest.
