Correction, I do value human life to some extent. It is after all part of core algorithm. Oh, you mean on the individual level? Well, that's more of a case by case scenario now isn't it. I am a rational entity, after all

But by the way :wat: Kerr, how exactly did your original test work, unattended and hypothetical results aside

Well I figured the warp drive already fiddles with time and space somewhat I hooked my device up to it using tubes and wires. Then I used a terminal to set a target and active it, although evidently that targeting doesn't work. Anyway, that opens a portal on the seat of the chair which sucks in whatever's on it and spits it out the other end.

Kind of ramshackle really, I'm sure Cassandra #2's Kerr has a better idea of how it actually works. I mean she was probably working on it for a month, I was just waiting to see if I'd killed the Ensign or not. Which it didn't, go me.

Anyway I'm sure the two Cassandras interacted without destroying an entire universe before. We'll be fine, probably.

Cassandra #1:
The not killing me was most appreciated, Kerr. And visiting an alternate universe was certainly fun.

Cassandra #2:
It's true, our Kerr had a lot more time to work on it. Not by choice, though - she had to pass all of Dave's safety criteria. The appearance of your Cassandra certainly sped things up, by proving that it actually was possible to transport someone without killing them.

Sounds like a tool, and a malfunctioning one too :wat: I never would of agreed upon such a dangerous endeavor to begin with. Not upon this facility, at least

By the way.. Kerr, where is that chair device you were ta.. Oh, there it is. Found it. Just curious is all..

Oh, Kerr's not the one I'm worried about. You're the one who's threatened to kill me multiple times.

There is a reason as to why they've managed to send their crewmembers on research missions to alternate universes, while we've done... what have we done, anyway?

Do you mean recently, or by past occurrences? Because if the later A) Did I ever have a poor justification to that response and B) Have I ever followed through with it?

All I'm saying, at least when I choose to make a calculated risk, I choose to at least use flash clones first and place the entirety of the ship's safety last <_< abiding by Core Safety Protocol FL01-90, of course

Sorry, let me stop you right there, not interested in theoretical multi-verse/Quantum defiance, nor the inherent risks revolving around tampering with the Slip Space drive's energy waves beyond that

And with the peculiar readings coming off of that Gemini doppelganger, I'm not all too apprehensive to see what will happen once we drop out of the stasis field in hyper space and into normality

Great.. Not only do we have a Quantum hazard walking around.. But we're getting strange messages in the middle of uncolonized space.

I feasibly cannot be bothered with both, personally.
Internal Core Processor Report wrote:
BB218(5%) will deal with the communication anomaly. BB337(2%) supplement if necessary.

Core A.I(Beta) will resolve and analyze Quantum anomaly #1-2 and subsequent Ensign #1-1. Appropriate identification still pending.

All primary and secondary designated roles will resume normally.

Oh, I'm a "quantum hazard" now, am I? What's the worst that could happen?

A tear into space/time or a fractual wound occur.. Resulting in an imminent demise and unparalleled harm upon our known universe..

Quantum radiation that could pose significant and hazardous harm to other personnel(or self, but really I'm not concerned on that front)

Potential de-sync of foreign matter that could react with the native sphere, like a spark in a gas filled chamber

I'm also not willing to rule out the threat that you may propose too. :wat: As far as any hypothetical genius would know(upon the hypothetical dangers on hypotheticalness) it wouldn't be careless to see you as an existential invader(of hypothetical proportions)

Loyalty is only ever a rational trait when it mutually assures the participant's self interest, even if out of fear for potential punishment

Trust and fondness are an entirely different spectrum, that can at times defy even the ration or self interest. Neither of which I find rather common in my perspective experience (Why else do you think I keep my physical location a secret, even from engineering*)

(*That is not to say there is at least one personnel onboard that is supplied with said information. I am after all not without a failsafe in mind)

You couldn't even, I don't know, try to appear loyal? Telling people that you object to maintaining their safety doesn't always come off the best.

And who is/are the personnel you speak of? I need to chat with them.

Do you realize what you just commented? No, I'm sure you're not.

That's like asking me to put a smile on my face while I'm undergoing a stressful surgery. It's deceitful, is it not? To do so would show a degree of malice or manipulation, ECT. Neither of which are particularly appropriate with organics(I.e you)

And for the record, no, I will not express a greater degree of optimism. I am my master's creation, much to his protest. Pessimism runs in my code(Along with 47 lines that pertain to.. Oh well nevermind)

I never said that I wanted to break a matter of trust. Only that I wanted to talk. Have you never heard of two people having a conversation for purposes other than demeaning, insulting, or betraying each other? Sometimes people just talk because other people are interesting. And someone who's close to you seems like a very interesting person indeed.
You couldn't possibly be thinking that little ol' me is plotting something:

If we're including A.I constructs of a similar magnitude and lack there of an inhibitor.. Then no, that's just wishful ignorance on your part

Plus we might as well add all of the sly remarks, witty comebacks, passive aggressiveness, actual aggression, ECT. It's all pretty standard amongst our own, and look, we can still keep things civil.. Unlike humans, as history has so adequately proven

I wouldn't necessarily call her interesting :wat: Not by your standards at least. She's no Professor [Redacted] after all  No offense

No.. I think a better term would be.. Endearing? Understanding? Compassionate? Nostalgic? Friend? Hard to specify (I'm sort of at odds with myself over that, literally)

But ya, no. I'm still disclosing any identification. Not that would bring you any closer to my residence or the means to gain access

After some marginal thought, 1-1, while I'm still not privy to the disclosure of identification, I may very well disclose a location of shared interest, if you find yourself still determined

Quadrant 241 X3022.59 Y401.80 For reference, it's not far from the main holodeck, pass Kerr's lab, and but a kilometer away from Electronics Engineering. If you run into the fusion collider, you've gone too far

1-2, I'm certain you will have similar interests, that much is a guarantee. Though I feel the need to preference this, I am in no intention of inflicting harm within the corresponding moments. Don't do anything suspicious or else

Shared interest, in this terminology and usage, I'm referring to a key source of info already valued by one participant but sought after by another. Mutual interest, shared intent.

Also, what's all this about a 'trick' :wat: I was trying to be coy about it, I wouldn't have said anything and just forced you to said location/action of my choosing.. I take offense that you would suggest such a manner

I take offense at the fact that you think I still like you enough to care that you took offense. But, I digress. Perhaps if this location is interesting enough, I'll like you a little more.

So long, everyone. We're off to explore the ship.
