Wow, that's what I call unorthodox.

Ok, here's one. I actually came up with this while trying to work out what Norroen's puzzle was all about :p. What numbers should come next in this series?

1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 5, 7, 4, 3, ?, ?

And more importantly, why?

I am more than sure that my answer is wrong, but if it should by chance turn out to be correct, I will post how I came up with it.Image

Spoiler:
5, 5

It's incorrect. I'm curious as to how you came up with it, but perhaps your reasoning could be used to make a new puzzle, so I understand if you don't want to share for that reason.

A slight hint: This puzzle requires some knowledge, as well as thinking ability.

Is this knowledge connected with the Periodic table (Mendeleev's table)?

No, it is not.

Not long to go, so I'm posting a hint: The answer is Elder Scrolls related.

Triple post. God, I'm a rebel.

So three days is up so it's time to reveal the solution:
Spoiler:
The numbers represent letters of the alphabet (1=A, 2=B etc). Those letters correspond to the notes in the Elder Scrolls theme song. The next two notes are B, then A, and so the next two numbers in the puzzle should be 2, then 1.

That's amazingly complex! I think this puzzle would have deserved a place of honour in the Lore Trivia thread. :altmer:

Okay, so I was actually on the right track when I drew vertical lines of different lengths and tried to figure out what they might represent. ;) Somehow the sound never occurred to me.

Yeah, sorry about that... I wondered whether it was too hard before I posted it. Seriously though, that's how far I went when I was trying to figure out your puzzle; I picked up my guitar and checked to see if the numbers somehow made up a song...

A quickie riddle:

Hidden:
A man entered a small dark room inside a large building. A few minutes later, he exited the room and left the building. Then, another man approached him and shot him dead. Why?

The small room was a bank vault and the man was carrying a lot of money?

Or

Hidden:
The small room was an elevator with a broken light and he was living the shooter's apartment, when he spent the night with his wife?

I do love your guesses, but the riddle implies a different story.

I assume we're allowed to ask yes/no questions, yeah? If so:

1. Did he take anything from the room, and if so, did he steal it?
2. Was the small room dark by choice?
3. Was the man who shot him known to him?
4. Did either man live, work, or own the building (or part of the building)?

1. No.
2. Yes.
3. I think that they did not know each other personally.
4. No to all.

The man entered a dark room, and died inside it (''left the building''). and then another man ''shot'' a picture of his corpse, for the usual reasons? (the press, the police, etc)

I appreciate the pun  , but the answer is wrong.

Since you can come up with the wildest things while thinking of an answer to a riddle of this type, I will count as correct even those answers that do not wholly coincide with what is implied; the main thing is to name certain key words in your version of the events. :)

EDIT:
The time for guessing is up.
The details of the story are irrelevant, but the key features are as follows:
Hidden:
The large building was a church; the small dark room was a confession booth; the man came there intending to make a confession of a wrongdoing - but the other party in the booth was not a real priest but a certain enemy (a rival spy, a mafia boss, it really doesn't matter), and the man's confession contained information that had him killed. Image

Now let us wait for a new puzzle.
Whoever's ready please feel free to take the turn. :)

Here's a number puzzle that I thought up while trying to solve another one:

Spoiler:
What comes next in the series: 5,6,6,8,8,5,5,1,1,?,?

First number puzzle so I wouldn't be shocked if someone got it quick like Musicman. Also, I'd like to hear the explanation for your answer.

I had a different way of solving it but that works too. Archer got the answer.

I'll take a turn if you don't mind; here comes a riddle!

Hidden:
On a certain island, there live 100 people, some of which always lie and others only tell the truth. Each islander has one favourite season.

Each islander was asked the following four questions:

• Do you love winter?
• Do you love autumn?
• Do you love summer?
• Do you love spring?

The first and the second questions were answered in the affirmative by 25 people respectively, the third question was answered affirmatively by 45 people, and the fourth – by 55. How many liars are there on the island?
