Pretty confident.
Spoiler:
Tom was born on December 31. On January 1, he was 17 two days ago - he is now 18. A year later - the next year - he would be 19, but he would be turning 20 on his birthday for that year.

And it looks like I was beaten to it. Though I got a very slightly different answer. Maybe because I'm thinking you can be 2 ages on one day, whereas the riddle is intended to mean that at the stroke of midnight you are a different age. Either way, if correct, Moeboid beat me to it.

That's absolutely correct!Image

Spoiler:
Leap years are every four years, though.

Today is January 1, Tom's birthday is on December 31, meaning he was 17 on the 30th, turned 18 yesterday (which is also last year), will turn 19 this year (new year on January 1st), and will turn 20 next year.

Whoops! Didn't see the next page.

I'm going to pass my turn over to scribbane, as I don't have any good puzzles at the moment.

Open season then, as I've got nothing either and I'm going out of town for a week so I might not be around to answer. Take it if you want it Music, since you got the right answer. Otherwise, I guess first person who has one can take it.

I shall take it!

Tis a (most likely easy and [&@%!] riddle) riddle
Spoiler:
You embrace me and in turn, I can be deadly. I help life to exist and destroy life. I am both deadly and comforting. What am I?

I feel like there could be a lot of answers to that riddle. A lot of recreational and medicinal drugs fit fairly well.

Correct! Am not surprised someone got it on the first guess. Musicman wins a big fat nothing. With a cherry on top. Which I ate. He gets nothing. :P

You put a coin in an empty bottle and insert a cork in the bottle’s opening. How can you remove the coin without taking out the cork or breaking the bottle?

Spoiler:
My answer is 2.

2 9 3 1 8 4 3 6 5 7

We can see two sequences of numbers: one is 2, 3, 4, 5; the other is 9, 18 (9 * 2), 36 (18 * 2). Thus, the next number in the second sequence should be 72 (36 *2).
Consequently, the last number in the entire row of numbers given to us in the puzzle is 2 so we can get 72.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompson and their two daughters are spending a holiday together with Mr. and Mrs. Brown and their two twin sons.
One night Redgie, one of the twins, noticed that the sum of the ages of the four people playing ball was equal to the sum of the ages of the other four people, who were playing cards.
Mr. Brown is four years older than his wife, who in turn is ten years older than Mrs. Thompson. The twins are two years older than the older of the Thompsons' daughters, and four years older than the Thompsons' younger daughter. Mr. Thompson is six years older than his wife, who is three times as old as her younger daughter.
Did Redgie and his brother play the same game, if we know that the total age of all these eight people is divisible by 31?
Explain your answer.

No, the brothers did not play the same game.
Game One:
Mrs Thompson: 39
Mr Brown: 53
Twin1: 17
Old Daughter: 15
Total: 124

Game Two:
Mr Thompson: 45
Mrs Brown: 49
Twin2: 17
Young Daughter: 13
Total: 124

248/31 = 8

Ok, here's a very famous puzzle that I expect a few of you will be familiar with. If you are, please don't answer it.

A woman sees an advertisement by a dog breeder who has two dalmatian puppies for sale. She would like to buy one, but only if it is male. She phones the breeder, who tells her that a male is available. She tells the breeder that she would like to buy it, then drives over to pick it up. The woman's neighbour sees the puppy the next day and decides that he would like one too - again, only if it is male. What's the chance that the remaining puppy is male, and why?

100% for the breeder steals back the puppy. Or both puppies are males and the breeder has no need for any more male dogs.

Dovah, your answer was amusing, but incorrect :p.

Since no one has guessed 50% yet, perhaps everyone who's interested in this thread already knows this puzzle? If you do already know it, please say so. If no one is guessing, someone may as well solve it.

Spoiler:
Using a series of science related stuff and time travel, the breeder sells only one male puppy in every universe. Thus there is an infinite amount of chances of both being male. Here is the serious answer. It is 50% due to the nature of dogs but the breeder may end up with another male puppy thus the chance is 33% however, the breeder may only have 2 puppies and the woman picked it up and stole it. The nieghbour wants to buy it thus will buy it from the woman instead of the breeder, however, that would be illegal thus no-one gets the puppy and the breeder ends up with the puppy again however, the neighbour buys the puppy and everyone is pleased. Aside from the woman but it doesn't matter. Or it's just 100% and the Breeder only has a litter of male puppies but only intends on selling two due to various reasons.

33%, 25%, or 50%.
