Fantastic place. Seeing the Saturn V they have on display there was mind-blowing.

While as much as I wanna say Toronto is the defacto place to be(and not bc I frequent there and its not too far away of a drive) I must say that you should go where your career options are at their best

I went to Toronto one year to celebrate New Years - it was so much fun. So cold, but really great! I liked it more than NYC.

^ You ever visit St Augustine? Fantastic place for history although getting too touristy nowadays. I love going there, the drive from my house is half the fun; get to drive really fast down A1A with the beach (literally) a stones throw away on the left and historic marshes on the right.

I think the last time I was there I was much too young to appreciate anything. Florida actually has a lot of really cool history; it's a shame I missed out on its appreciation, but there's always the future. My traveling days are far from over.

The Saturn Vs are so fascinating. I don't know how the one down there was, but where I was, you could walk under it, and you really get an appreciation for the sheer size and craftsmanship of the thing... It's impressive to know that the human mind could do that, I think. (A few schools had prom under the Saturn V, which is to say, much cooler than my prom was all those years ago! Boo.)

I registered for a first aid course today (my work is paying for it, so that's nice) and I'm really looking forward to it. First Aid was always something I wanted to have some knowhow of.

We do, you just need to appreciate a kind of a niche history I suppose. We have lots of native american history but sad thing is these sights often get destroyed in construction cause they don't look significant. There was 1 case though where construction exposed a body so they called the cops but it turned out to be a 5k+ year old preserved indian.

The 'historic marshes' I mentioned are historic cause it was a former english indigo plantation, although now it's just essentially a nature trail (http://myfwc.com/viewing/recreation/wma ... r/history/). Middens are all throughout FL but I think folks don't understand that's the echos of a civilization that was here for 5k years before columbus. They don't look special, just like weird sand dunes. That's kinda what I mean about you can definitely enjoy the history here, it's just that you need a keen eye.

Ditto! I must go back to europe at some point but you know what I really wanna do is tour the US in a car. I've been on road trips but I wanna go on a huuuge road trip, not have too much of a schedule just wake up and say "now I'm gonna go to this state."

I wish I had the budget to drive through Europe with my car. I travel abroad mostly by busses, and tomorrow I have one back to Poland. It might be hard, but I think that I can manage to save a bit and get some people interested in a trip, but time is another problem.

Despite the size of the US it's surprisingly affordable. It's been a little under a decade since I've been to Europe but our gas prices are like half the cost. Also for me personally, being a mechanic really helps. It helps, but it does suck having to change parts in hotel parking lots in the rain (did this on a return trip from LA).

I've been on road trips down to Florida multiple times! It's really a hoot.

How did it ruin your brother's car? The only time our van was hurt was the year we got hit by a drunk driver. Our car was totalled. As a kid it was pretty nice, though, because we got three days in Atlanta while our parents were working things out with the insurance company.

Well for starters, he's pretty bad to his cars in the first place. 2nd, bc he kept driving so many miles, the heat from both the roads and friction were something to keep mind on.. plus, he kept driving it till the engine got too hot

He ended up buying replacement tires while down there.. I'm damn glad I didnt let him borrow my car for the trip(but I also didnt want his tendency to get pulled over for speeding n DUI to weigh on my concious)

^ Driving an engine while it's overheating is the worst possible thing one can do to their engine next to running it w/o oil or something crazy like that (which ultimately leads to overheating). Even after 'fixing' the problem the engine will never produce the same amount of power. Regarding the tires: Just don't be a [@#@], replace them when they wear down. New tires should last years. Tires are the most important safety feature on any car and are often taken too lightly.

In other news I fell on my face Wednesday and my eye literally swelled 100% shut. It's mostly opened back up but is a bit swollen and it looks like hell. I look like I got hit with a baseball bat.

You dont need me to say it, but use some cold to get that swelling down. As far as the bruising, after the inflammation is dealt with, you could always use heat

Thanks. After the incident I texted a nurse friend and she said nearly the same thing.

Swelling would go down then come back. Today it's pretty good though, little swelling and I can see through most of my eye. What I don't get is why my whole eye area (especially near the nose) is all purple/bruised yet I only hit my eyebrow area. There's like a purple line going from the inner eye, diagonally toward my upper cheek.

Newsflash, ever wondered why its not that hard to give someone a blackeye  the face is not only rich in blood(any mishaps in shaving proves my point) but also the fact that you got tender or thin tissue right up to a hard solid surface. Blunt force is gonna leave alot more surface damage than say to your arms where actual muscle mass and fat resides

^ When I used to train oddly enough there weren't many black eyes but when someone got a tiny tiny cut from sparring it would literally squirt blood. We always had butterfly bandages on hand.
Anyway, not my most flattering pic:

The human brain is a power-hungry device. Not only does it require a lot of blood to deliver glucose for processing energy, the body pumps a lot of blood around the outside of the cranium in order to cool it down. Hence the bleedy nature of even a superficial head wound.

I heard a Buddhist monk say something similar. It was something along the lines of the brain is so taxing that it can actually burn like 10-20% of the bodies calories under certain circumstances (stress, etc).

Suuuure, "Research." That is the oldest trick in the book. Unlike me, who uses RWBY fanart for actual research. Research for project tea......trouser...........mouse. Yeah, TeatrouserMouse. It's a real project. It showcases the er... benefits of fans doing art for RWBY in preparation for RWBY volume 6 coming out next month. No, I am not obessed with RWBY to the point where my dreams are of RWBY. That is a false claim and I will slap thee with a teabag that turns into a coffee jar that also turns into a cookie.

I concur. There are just too many possibilities, and yet somehow I think the reality will be far more fulfilling...
