I've been watching some of the World Cup as of late. Ireland isn't in it so arbitrarily decided I want Argentina to win. And first game I watched with them they lost 3 - Nil so, good job guys.

World Cup and Euros are the only football I ever have interest in. Because you can have casual interest and be fine. You need spreadsheets to keep up with normal football. Which hey, if you're into such sports leagues, more power to you. But that's too much for my extremely casual interest.

I haven't seen much of the World Cup this time around, but I like soccer...as much as anyone whose first love is baseball could. Croatia gave Argentina a bit of a run for their money there.

Well they're gonna be up against somebody from Group H which like, I imagine they'll probably beat Japan/Senegal/Columbia, so they're probably gonna get to the Quarter Finals. But yeah, England doing well in International Football, it's weird.

What a ludicrious display! I mean, what was wegner thinking of sending him on? The thing about Arsenal is that they always walk it in. That is the extent of my football knowledge. Still think drunk footballl should be a thing or [&@%!] wizard football. Just imagine the England Mages summoning up demons to swallow the other team out of petty spite. Imagine turning the ball into a ball of fire.

How is magical sports not a game? Seriously, [&@%!] Golf with wizards would be awesome. Just screw over your mate's game via obstalces, troll them by levtiating their ball away from the hole etc..

Well, the universe seems to find a way to knock you off your high horse when it's needed. Thankfully, turns out it's also more than happy to help you climb back in the saddle when you're ready. :D

And you can keep the humidity. I just returned from a trip where I got to escape it, and coming back to that balmy, nasty embrace is dismal. Only a few more weeks of this and then I'm going back to my snow and my winters and my bitter cold, and I'm never leaving it again.

Quidditch is the worst most nonsensical sport I've ever come across. The hell was J.K Rowling thinking, the rules are so weird. Like scoring goals, 95% of the game, doesn't matter. I imagine it's even worse in practice.

Post subject:  Re: General Discussion

It really does make nonsense  like, why even bother with most of the game when almost all games are won the same way. The points literally dont matter

And lets not forget you get to choose your broom. He who can afford the faster broom wins, or at least, has better odds. Thats like raving a marathon but someone is allowed a bike bc they bought it

...Did someone actually admit they prefer winters over balmy weather? Anndddd, chalking that up to [&@%!] I never thought I'd hear someone say with a straight face.

Right behind, "No, I don't want to win the lottery", and, "I hope work calls me in today".

I know, Fiar. I know. But listen. I'm a snowbird. Living in the deep south (US) for the last...five? years...has taught me a few things about hot weather, and it mostly comes down to how much I hate it. It's too hot to even enjoy. If the worst I got to deal with is some snow for half the year - especially after living with tornadoes and droughts and all sorts of crap - I think I will be content. (Also, we don't have the lottery in my state anyway, so there's one utterance I won't be saying!)

^Were you not a fan [of ESO]?

Sorta? When I play Elder Scrolls games, the Thieves guild is usually the first thing I do on my main runs. Oblivion's was by far my favorite and it's the standard I measure the others to. So of course that's the first thing I wanted to try with ESO.

ESO's thieves' guild questline is cool in concept, and sometimes even fun, but the crime & punishment system in the game is abysmal. It is terrible to the point that I am offended that the Elder Scrolls name is associated with it. The only other games I can think of that infuriated me as much with crime systems like that fall into the bin alongside Wii shovelware. It runs completely contradictory to how the guild quest expects you to play.

So it's not like I think it's a bad game, it's just that it failed so thoroughly on a part of the game that I considered so integral to my experience that it really killed any other desire I had to play more of it. I may do the main quest at some later date, but for now I just don't really care for it.

Doing all the Vivec stuff was cool though. I liked meeting Sotha Sil.

Former friend of mine stole my law review article idea, and it got published.

I would have given him full blessings in pursuing it but he just wrote it anyways.

Naturally, you are honour bound to hunt him down in a thrilling saga of adventures that is backed by a latin ocherstra and climaxes with both of you dueling on a rooftop with katanas.

While I never have seen it, I feel like that would be a Doctor Who episode at some point....Though maybe my ignorance of the show is showing, lol

Did someone say article? I've just finished my second TES Journal Article!

In other news, I have passed the first year of my History B. A., getting 62% in both of the exams I took!

Indeed, I go back late September - a lot more time to play TES and write more articles!

Would need more wibbly wobbly, time-y wimey stuff and less blinking, me thinks...but, hmmm, stranger things have happened on Doctor Who.

In seriousness, friends (former friends included) can do strange things to each other in the moment, sometimes for even stranger reasons, sometimes for perfectly sane reasons. The nice thing is that negativity doesn't tend to linger. Still, I understand, Velvet. Sorry they did you in like that.

Depends on the writer. If it's Moffat, well, expect a very convulted plot, such as, "Let's kill the moon", deus ex machina and how on earth is the moon a living thing!? Even years later, it still [&@%!] me off! HOW!? IF THAT.... no, Dovah. No. Save the fan rage for something else. I may have a very strong opinion about that episode. I may feel heavily about Moffat's run being mostly miss instead of hit.

On another note, I kinda want a Kojima directed and written TES game just out of curiosity. I mean, just imagine what he could do if he has the passion and I kinda feel that MGSV just was the point where he got burnt out on MGS. But yeah, a Kojima Scrolls game would be interesting. Or makes CODA seem simple.
