Glory to UESP.

I’m been goin aqua cookoo, turnin fruit loops to chocolate Yoo-hoo.

Been a while, missed you guys

I must admit for some of you lord of the rings fans, I got got engaged yesterday and our engagement rings are replicas of the One Ring. Hers is silver and mine is blue. Elvish engravings and all. Of course our actual wedding rings wont be that, but I’d rather spend the crazy money on that ring. I think some here might appreciate that

Gonna go with a diamond of a gemstone, hat? Or any fancy precious metal?

FINALLLYYY, the hat has returned etc......

The rings sound neat, Hat. Just try not to do Hatberg's entrance, spear everyone, jackhammer them. :P But joking aside(I've got a ton of wrestling ones that i could make but won't), congrats! :D Hope the wedding is the best day of your life.

I just watched a video of an English man having hard times and in his video he said, "As the Americans say, 'no money, no honey.'" 1 that's a load of crap and 2 we don't say that, if anything we say the opposite.

I'm thinking white gold with diamonds, unless she prefers yellow gold. But I'm definitely getting her a diamond or diamonds..woman's best friend

So you might say, "no honey, no money"?

Technically, he could get honey with no money anyway. He just needs to find a bee farm and ask the keeper, or sneak in and grab a bit (though that option would require such things as a smoker and a protective suit, preferably).
Unless he means 'honey' to mean something else, but same goes.

I was leading into a Huey Lews and the News (Power of Love) reference but I suppose you got me there.

And dunno if you're joking or not but honey is in reference to a loved one like boyfriend or girlfriend. Nobody really uses it anymore unless you're old but I use it as a tongue in cheek kinda thing if I'm being flirtatious.

Whaaat? I was just checking the lyrics to 'Power of Love' (need or take, I always forget)...
I always thought the lyrics were:
Don't need money, Don't take change, Don't need no credit card to ride this train.
But it's "don't take FAME". I've been singing it wrong all this time.
I seemed to have got caught up with the whole monetary aspect of the lyrics.

Yeah, I hear the word 'hun' quite often though, as a shortened version of honey (as a term of endearment), and occasionally 'honeybun'.

Just a tad bit of random here, bit Hat reminded me of something I've long since dwelled on.. Seriously, wedding rings, what would your preferred choice be to give/receive? Bc I can tell you this... Beta ain't going with no carbon rock, no ma'am :wat: But that's just my own prefence/belief.. Sort of like how like how turkey bacon is, like the best bacon.(and Canadian bacon can go burn in hell like the abomination that it is)

^I have no idea, but just yesterday I was thinking: I don't wear rings (I like them, but I find them impractical) so I don't know if I'd be comfortable wearing a wedding ring.
Maybe I'd wear it on a chain, but that seems a bit out of the spirit of things.

I hate them too.. So hard to adjust to. But I'm sure I would hate a chain around my neck even more(Says the guy who legit wore a real dog collar for a while)

But honestly now.. It's hard for me for me to say which metal I find nicer.. White gold or platinum >_> seriously, pair either of those with any choice of a sapphire.. Just.. GG

On a side note, I totally should get a cheap silver engagement ring... Just to wear around at work.. Bc ya know.. It might just be worth it

White Gold/Platinum with a sapphire sounds nice. I think sapphires and emeralds look good with the silver toned metals. I like garnet with gold too.

Is the engagement ring to put off potential patient admirers? I didn't know it was customary for men to wear one.

Fun fact the lyrics are sometimes wrong when looking them up but in this case you're correct (in correcting yourself). Or is it the mandella effect? dun dun DUN

Regarding the 'hun' thing yeah that does get said constantly but only by girls and I generally hear it in the service industry. "What can I get you hun?" that kinda thing. I've never heard it used in a relationship that I can recall. Typically 'babe' is the standard go to these days and is used by both sexes.

Here 'hun is too affectionate to be used in the service industry. People would just say, "what can I get you?" with no extras like Sir, Miss, Ma'am, etc.
I only hear it in relationships.
Yeah, 'babe' is a popular one, as is 'sweetheart'.
I've heard others too but I think they would be classed more for personal use.

Edit: I'd never hear of the Mandela effect, but I looked it up and I like it. Anything that raises the possibility of time travel and parallel universes is a plus in my book.

THANK you. I think like half the fun is getting an easel with a giant sheet of paper, a dry erase board or a chalk board and then explain the basics of time travel to a few people while drawing different time lines.

Large drawable boards are basically made for the purpose of explaining time travel.
That, and different coloured pieces of string that are tied across a room in all different directions (also good for solving crime).

Oh, and don't forget, if you find yourself in an alternate timeline, you need to go right back to where the timeline skewed otherwise you just end up in the past of your alternate timeline.
Ah, I need a blackboard to explain it better.

Or there's the timey wimey explaination. What is it? Timey Wimey. No, seriously, that is the explaination. Timey. Wimey.

Also, don't kill your past or future self. It will erase you from existence. Don't even insult your past or future self, that is just rude and likely to bring about the machine apocalyse. In fact, just stay away from your past or future self.

Steins;Gate has something like the Mandela Effect called a Reading Steiner where memories carry over between world lines. Everyone experiences it, it's what Déja Vu is but the main character has it more pronounced than other people. A lot of that show/visual novel has discussions about different forms of time travel and how they'd theoretically work. I like the anime more than the visual novel, it's well paced, the animation is beautiful and cinematography adds a lot to it, I really couldn't recommend it enough.

Also that intro:

I really need to play Steins;Gate 0. I could wait for the show which I'm sure will be better but I already own the game, so...

Very much yes and no, not really. Basically, even in a female dominated workforce, I have no reason to be concerned with my fellow co-workers. Hell, even with a fake ring, I still would confess the truth if a nurse asked

What it really is for is those pesky patients that just can't take a hint.. Especially the *shivers down spines* the ones a lil too adamant >_> I primarily have more encounters with psych or detox patients than I do standard medicals, so you can see where problems may arise.

I know a ring wont stop all of it, but I can at least use as an excuse when I can. Sorry Ma'am, I don't wanna meet your daughter/granddaughter. Pls, miss, I'm not interested. Sir, sir? Can you pls not?

The downside tho.. It would look very shady if I was to remove it every time I went to the pub or restaurant. Even an explanation would sounds shady

If you just wore it at work then it shouldn't be any trouble at the pub.
Only suspicious if you literally sat down at the bar and pulled it off in front of people who might see.

As for the co-workers, I didn't think it would be related to them because they'd either ask about it cos they know you, and also, I presume it's acceptable to date a colleague at your workplace?

Adamant patients sound unpleasant. Plus, because it's your job, you can't exactly go "would you just [&@%!] off, I'm not [&@%!] interested!" like you could if it was somewhere else.

Well, it's frowned upon to date co-workers, but I don't find it necessarily a problem. Plus, as you said, the coworkers that probably would notice would also know me too

The other bit, ya, I really wished I could drop the nice act and say what I want sometimes...

Maybe on your last day. :P

In terms of the wedding ring question: do you like bands? So, just the traditional plain ring of metal?
For me, they are a bit boring; I like a bit of jujsh (I have no idea how to spell that word).
I also think it depends on what kind of hand you have, as to whether it suits you or not. ('You' meaning 'people').

My Dad hasn't been able to get his wedding ring off in about 10 years. It's stuck there. I find this quite disturbing.

Unwanted advances from patients sounds very unpleasant.

Getting a Claddagh Ring is something I think I'd like to do at some point. It's a Irish ring which you wear in different ways depending on your relationship status. Unfortunately, my sister has had one for years so she'd (correctly) think I was trying to copy her style. The solution to this is of course, date someone and then around anniversary/birthday/Christmas heavily drop hints. Or just flat out tell them. Then it's not my fault I got the ring, is it? Works even better if I emigrate, then they were trying to remind me of my homeland, it was incredibly thoughtful.
