On an even more off topic er... off topic note of being off topic. I seem to be choosing books from the libary and struggling to get into them. (And no, i don't mean struggling to open them before any of you n'wahs make that joke). That said, I think sitting down, reading them may be a good thing to do at the library before borrowing them. Oh and I shall take up swimming. Turns out it's cheap(unless i go sea swimming) and if there is one thing i need to do. It is get physical excerise.

Yeah this honestly is so surreal to me. The 20th century is so ingrained in us that it'll be so weird to 'repeat' every decade.

Is there anyone who really loves the 70s? I see a plenty of love for other 20th Century decades (okay, maybe not the 30s and 40s) but I never see anyone who feels that way for the 70s. Other than That 70s Show I guess.

Ahh, Kerr! Pick me, pick me! My ideal life would involve me being born in 1940, so that I could be in my 30s during the 1970s! 50s 60s 70s 80s, let's go! I love 'em all! And I like the 30s and 40s, too. They wouldn't be my first choice, but I still really like them.

@Aarah&Beta: I'm not denying the fact that the 1920s were a fantastic decade. But I would 100% rather live in the 60s. I mean, life in the 20s seems all glamourous, but that was really only if you were rich and white. And women had only just been given the right to vote. And they were so lacking in technology. I don't know if I could take it. Plus, lovely as the fashion is, it really isn't my favourite (in terms of what I like to wear, I mean). Let me go to the 60s!

DITTO! 1969 was a big year and the one I'd chose to go to. This is when my favourite year corvette was made (minor technicality in that statement), woodstock was going off and the moon landing was being broadcasted live. So I always imagine flying down the highway in that 'vette to watch woodstock, then later haul ass back home to watch the moon landing. What a year that'd be!

Isn't that every decade? Also this is so going to end with you 'disappearing' your family being very sad and then your sister finding old pictures of your great grandmother in the attic who looks exactly like you.

The past for me is very much a case of "it would be nice to visit, not to stay." There's no decade before now I'd like to live in but visiting any of them would be pretty cool. It'd be even better if you had some Tardis translation circuits so you communicate with people wherever you went, so country and era is no longer a problem. I could see what my home town was like 2000 years ago.

Of course if I did get stuck in the past I should try to be as 2010s 20-something as humanly possible.

[&@%!].. I totally would plop down a portal, have my brunch in the 50s, walk the town during the late 80s, go listen to some swing n drink at the club during the 20s, visit the 90s to steal my school lunch, then pop by the good old stone age to smash some skulls.

I think the future in Terminator is the 2020s, I can't remember.

Sending the Terminator back did cause John to be born but really, Skynet would have lost anyway. Skynet took a real "Great Man" view of history. They're married to the idea that John Connor was the only thing that brought about their downfall, there were no other factors. Killing the robots with laser guns and pipe bombs just never would have occurred to humans if not for him.

Sarah Connor Chronicles is a really "eh" show, but something I do like is there's a T-1000 which all on its own comes to the conclusion that traveling back in time to make Skynet not evil and co-exist with humans is a much better strategy for robot survival than trying to kill John Connor. Especially because the show has a future where Kyle Reese is leading the resistance because John Connor wasn't around.
