That was a nifty little baseball game.

I think it's down to personality traits. What may be deemed evil(selfishness, greed etc..) may be what forms the bulk of Slytherin and they are not the Hogwarts version of racist organisations.

See that never made much sense to me. Who divides students up by personality traits? (besides psychologists)

I always thought it must be due to some variation in their field of study. You see a lot of people from Slytherin who specialize in curses and offensive spells (what could be called Destruction in TES); plenty of Ravenclaw members appear to be mostly interested in the practical uses of alchemy and spellcasting (let's call that Alteration) and Hufflepuff innnn... herblore... I think.

There's a theory actually that the three protagonists from the series were destined for different houses. Namely that Harry would have done well in Slytherin (even the Sorting Hat says so), Hermione seems like she would fit in better with Ravenclaw, and that Ron would have been better-suited to Hufflepuff. The difference that put all of them in Gryffindor (idk about spelling, I'm not a fan of this series) is that all of them had the courage to ask to be placed there. They were ambitious and held themselves to a higher standard, classic traits of Gryffindor.

Thank the gods I've stopped acting like a 5 year old. I don't think I can control myself from changing. It's more like split personality disorder.

@Crawldragon: that's not a theory, it's a word-of-god-confirmed fact. Except swap Ron with Neville. Ron isn't a Hufflepuff at all.

Also, it isn't about sense, the wizarding community is highly dysfunctional, Rowling just does a very poor job of making things clear.

@Beta go to bed.

Well yeah, that about shows how closely I've been following the Harry Potter fandom for the past few years. I'll just skitter off quietly to my corner now, and continue watching old people yell at old video games...

I still belive Pong beats Pong! Unlike that other Pong which was a rip off of Pong whilst Pong HD was rubbish and Pong within Pong was a bad idea! I will throw confetti at anyone who disagrees!

It will only slightly annoy you! Ye have been warned!

Aarah claims to like Pong but I know for a fact she perfers the other Pong because it is more Ponger then Pong but it lacks Pong whilst pretending to be Pong along with PonginPong being used as a Bong which was the worst sequel to Pong whilst original Pong is the best pong and there are a lot of Pong stuff! I will build a Pong throne out of Pong and sit upon thy Pong to lord it all over Pong. I am the one they fear in the night, I am the defender of Pong. I am Pongman! PONG PONG!

Thus the Sheodovah retired as the UESP grand slam Pong Champion. Some say that he built a giant pong machine over america and made them pay for it. Others say that he dumped a giant teabag on America. They are completely both right.

No never did. I was considering joining one so I could ask technical questions but at the moment there are no issues. All is well on the gardening front. You should see it; 1 (experimental) tomato, 1 (experimental) datil, 6 broccolis, 6 collards, 4 cabbages, 4 strawberries and 6 kales.

In other news the god forsaken blue angels are back and are currently practicing right above my house. SO damn loud.

Does experimental mean that you're learning how to grow the crop for the first time, or that you've conducted unethical gene-modification on them?

@Beta: You already slept (I hope), what are you talking about? :wat:

Haha no, just that it's kinda late in the season and I don't think it will produce. Doesn't hurt to try though.

@beta Herbs don't count! They grow like weeds.

Actually the last time I tried to do any gardening I planted some bee balm in one of my mother's gardens. By the end of the year the bee balm had completely taken over two gardens. It was the most successful invasive species I'd ever seen. Made a damn fine cup of tea, though.

When selling fresh produce, I'm not ashamed to admit that "it's not its season right now, bud" with a smug undertone is my number 1 way of explaining why we don't have whatever overtly specific genus of gourmet salad the customer wants. Nevermind the fact that I don't even know when most things actually are in season. Take a guess as to why I'm not head of the produce section.

But which lettuce? Lollo Rosso? Lollo Bionda? Maybe Radicchio? Some people seem to prefer the loose variants over salad heads.

One thing I've noticed over the years is that 'fruiting' plants like tomatos, oranges, peppers, etc generally grow in the summer while leafy plants like lettuce, kale, chard, etc grow in the cooler seasons. Just an observation, I'm sure google knows more.

That being said I believe apples fruit in cooler temperatures. EDIT:Come to think of it, strawberries fruit in cooler temps so nevermind this entire post. EDITX2: Maybe has something to do with acidity... Google surely knows more.

I was exaggerating my lack of knowledge a little bit for comedic value, I do know the basics. Citrus fruit trees generally produce in the winter (which is why oranges, clementines etc are tradionally Christmas fruit), tubers and pumpkins are a fall crop, sweet fruit plants produce in the summer, nuts fall in the fall (ha. ha.. ha.) and so on. Not that it really matters, since everything's usually widely available on the market anyway, except for cases of stuff that really can't be grown anywhere out of season.
