Sometimes I get this weird bug where my character moves at a slight angle instead of simply moving in a cardinal direction.

What could be causing this? How can I fix this?

Thanks.

Could it be one of your keyboard's cursor keys getting stuck?

Unlikely, since loading earlier saves fixes it, while loading saves that I make after the bug occurs stay with the problem.

I don't know what information gets written to the save game files, but I'm pretty sure it includes the direction you're facing. I know that when I save and restore in Arena, my point of view may shift slightly to a perfect cardinal direction if I was facing away slightly when I had saved. Maybe there's some sort of glitch in Daggerfall where it thinks you're facing in a cardinal direction even though you aren't?

Interesting. Do you know how I might make it shift back? (Not having immediate trouble, since I make backup saves frequently, but it'd be great to know)

Find the button for "center view" and press it. You looked around but didn't recenter your head, so now you are actually walking around with your head turned.

Also, why aren't you using mouselook?

This game has mouselook!? How do I turn that on?

EDIT: Oh, and centering my view fixed it! Thanks :D

EDIT2: To turn on mouselook, Controls -> Mouse -> View. Thanks for mentioning this game had that, I didn't even realize there was a Mouse sub-section in Controls.
