Why do I swing my weapon so slowly compared to in arena? Is there a way to change the speed of my swings? Or do I just level up speed?

thanks in advance

The speed with which you swing your weapon is indeed controlled, at least partially, by your speed attribute. It is useful to bump that up, naturally, because more swings means more total damage output. If you need a radical boost, becoming a werewolf is an option; +40 is not to be scoffed at.

Lighter weapons also swing faster than heavier ones. And with that in mind: if you have access to the Item maker, featherweight is a fantastically cheap effect that reduces the weight of the item to 0.25 kg... heh!
