Hi we were working on a Daggerfall remake project at the dfworkshop but for reasons unknown to us the site is down for almost a month now and we can't continue our work. So we are asking for someone who has the possibility and interest in this project to helps with a new host.

Before the site went down we had plenty of contributed material and a functional demo in Ogre that showed a small village, a nearby cemitery and a dungeon. Our coder was also starting to work on a Lua binding that would let us translate Daggerfall quest scripts into Lua scripts and thus become easily modable by everyone.

We were also retexturing and improving the old Daggerfall models by hand and creating new 3d models from old Daggerfall flats. There are around 8 beautiful Daggerfall musics remastered to by Robert Hood for this project. Our lore contributers have translated and assembled lore, books and clues from other sources not available in the internet.

We only need an FTP site and an account for every previous project member to store our previous work. But if anyone could provide us a project wiki and an svn repository this would greatly improve productivity.

Thanks for reading this post.

Maybe I'm not understanding correctly, but why can't one of the existing members start up such a site?

I hope you continue what you're doing, I'd love Daggerfall even more if it were less broken at times. ;) Plus it'd be great if it were expandable.

If you really want a free ride you could try having the project hosted on some open source development site, like sourceforge (dot) net or berlios (dot) de (free SVN).

Sourceforge sounds like it could get the job done. It appears that they may let you host a wiki along with it (don't take my word for it, you'll want to check with them :-P). I was just checking though, and if you did have a wiki up there, it'd have to store it's data in an SQL db, rather than on file. Looks to me like they only support MySQL too.

Anyway, good luck. I hope you find a new home :D.

Hello there.

I love Daggerfall and I could host for you on my server thats on a 100/10 Mbit connection. Seeing as this thread is rather old I thought id stop by and register. I would love to see a remake of DF though I lack the programming skills.

*Ahem*

This was solved quite quickly awhile ago, you can help them out at DungeonHack.Uesp.Net. Hurrah!
