In order to play Daggerfall on Win98 DOS, do I need to get my hands on a CD of Daggerfall, or can I somehow use the download from Elder Scrolls?

Thanks!

Download from the link to Bethesda on the Daggerfall page. Then either name the CD Daggerfall, or pick the option to Download the entire or the most content on to the computer into a file called Daggerfall, the file that lauches the program must be named Daggerfall or it will not work.

Well, I have another problem... I don't know if the computer has a USB port. It could just be floppy... I don't know for sure, it's just, does anybody know a way to get the DFInstall from Elder Scrolls onto the computer IF it doesn't have a USB or internet connection?

EDIT: (I won't know until monday)

Is the DFInstall from Elder scrolls the same thing as the actual disk? or is it in like a DOSBox format? As in will it work the same on win98 DOS as it does in DOSBox (what most people use it for)?

You might want to look into setting up DOS32A on that system too, if it's applicable. (Dunno if it applies to Win98 DOS)

What I'd do is download Daggerfallsetup, install wherever, then copy all the game files to a CD and paste onto the über oldschool gaming beast. That way I would Know I had a reliable, patched, working version to start with. Then (I'm guessing) just have to mind a possible discrepancy with DOS32A, which Daggerfallsetup uses in its Dosbox implementation. How's that sound?

DFInstall contains the Daggerfall CD in a folder called DFCD and the 2.13 patch in the folder DAGGER. You can burn the contents of DFCD if you want to use it as a CD. patch should be run in DOS after the installation.

It should run perfectly fine. I recommend the full installation for optimal performance, though it could be quite large for a computer that old (400-something MB). I remember my old Win98 computer had only 5 GB of hard drive.
