Post subject:  Do you think dagerfall should be re-made?
An interesting idea... do you think it should be re-made into now graphics? Daggerfall is a MASSIVE game, and it would take a lot of work for bethesda

Or, do you prefer the nice old classic daggerfall?

I like classic, but now, you cant realy take games with these kind of graphics seriousley. Most people see a game and go "the graphics are crap, the game is crap" which is not really true, but I would like to see daggerfall get a little update to improve the graphics a bit. I wouldnt want them to re-make the entire game and change everything about it.

Now, I know that bethesda does not work on their old games. This is just a little thing I found interesting

I love the good old Daggerfall, and I find the graphics consisting of 2d sprites and low poly buildings very nostalgic. I wouldn't mind if they left it alone, but seeing such a large world space in HD Would sure be something.

Personally I am all for graphic updates. People have this issue with new games, they say that games get crappier when they release sequels, but if they only improve on the graphics and physics...well everyone would be happy(unless you like moaning a lot).
Because Daggerfall is a classic, they should keep everything the same, but just improve on the aesthetics and AI. THey can still keep the quests and the actual core of the game.

A revamped 'Daggerfall' with a higher resolution, better framerate, and the ability to play it on a console would be satisfactory.

My biggest issue 'ES2:D' isn't so much the visuals as it is with the interface. The menu system is slower than it needs to be. Too many tabs. Too much scrollbar. I would prefer an inventory closer to 'Morrowind' with all items/weapons/spells laid out in an easy to scan window.

The mouse-look is flawed too. I want to be able to click on objects AND look around simultaneously, not toggle between "interact" and "look" modes. The default Daggerfall setup is just not very user-friendly.

DaggerXL is definitely a step in the right direction, but it's a long way from being completely finished.


'Arena' is the one that really suffers graphically. It looks worse than the original 'Doom'.

Based on when it came out and that it came out before Daggerfal, no surprises there.
