Can't Exit Houses

I'm encountering a weird issue in which if I enter an NPC's house, I can't go back outside. If I go to the door and left-click it, it acts like I'm entering the house again - my location doesn't change and a dialog box pops up that says something like "a voice inside tells you to come in." So if I enter anyone's house, I get permanently stuck inside. Am I missing something simple, or is this a glitch?

Sounds like a glitch. Check if u have grab set as ur interact type.

Also u migt have to commit a crime (ur choice, sleep, steal) or reload a save to get out of this

I tried clicking on the door in all four modes and it's saying the same thing every time. And reloading a save is pointless, because while that gets me back outside, it happens again when I go back in, and I've just discovered it's the same way for every kind of building, so this pretty much breaks the game for me.

I was going to try to go through the entire TES series, but I might be forced to skip to Morrowind.

Sounds like its your version u installed.

Did u install the daggerfall Setup Version?

Okay I tried that one and it worked. I was using the one from Bethesda's website and I thought I installed all of the patches, but I must have been missing something.

Sounds like a timing issue--the game thinks you are clicking twice (once to exit and then to immediately reenter the house).

Maybe the cycles on DOSbox are set too high, or to low?

The Daggerfall setup Edition should suffice for a default setup for the game. While it's not one-hundred-percent OptimEyes to my specification. It is really optimized. And most of the other [&@%!] you could just do it in your own time or might be a subject of opinion. If you don't know what you're doing just use the default version on Daggerfall setup. Make sure you install all of the mods though. And make sure to run eyes of argonia. I'm not sure if we have to run that anymore, does the installer run it for us now or...?
