Crash when I try to get back to Daggerfall

After a stint of dungeon crawling, I tried to fast travel back to Daggerfall. The game abends whenever I try this. I can go to other cities but not to Daggerfall. None of my backups were in Daggerfall, and they all have the same problem. If I can't get around this, I will not be able to do the main quest line. Any suggestions?

The first thing to do is probably to run Fixsave (the latest version of this utility can be found here) and see if it helps. Just as the patch, this is a DOS programme that must be run from inside DOSBox. Also (again!) make sure you have updated the game to the latest version.
