Can't finish quest

I accepted The Traitor quest from the Knights of the Dragon and killed the Nightblade, but when I go talk to the quest giver, nothing happens. I can still join the guild, but I want to finish the quest and get my reputation gain before I do that. Any help would be appreciated. I actually stopped playing the game for a few months because of this.

If it's vanilla Daggerfall, I think you need to be used to that. The game was always rather broken on that account.

You said vanilla Daggerfall. So I take it there are mods or patches that fix these bugs?

So I've heard. Never actually played Daggerfall.

But I've read extensively about it before, and I think there was a lot of patches. But someone else might be better suited to answer you than me.

So I tried installing some patches, no effect. Now I've found that not only am I not able to complete the quest, I also can't get new quests from the Order.
