A place to discuss and ask questions about the second part of The Elder Scrolls series

I can't run in towns, npcs in towns stride along at a snail's pace, certain staircases cause me to plummet into the void behind the level matter when I try to SLOWLY climb them (Through an arduous and frustrating process of jumping, mashing forward, jumping, and plummeting into nothing), spells and arrows flick past before the eye can even register them, and being poisoned results in almost instantaneous death, punctuated by a rather arbitrary chorus of "you feel somewhat bad".
Any ideas, dosbox experts?
Edit: and also a couple of npcs, including Moriagh (Uuuugh) have started completely ignoring me. Not even a "Go away. I despise your kind" for my trouble.
Edit edit: Someone told me to use the fixsave, but that actually helped absolutely nothing. It burns... I was really starting to connect with my character... Please help.

Did you install using DagerfallSetup? It's an automated setup that installs daggerfall with dosbox and the latest patches and some mods (if you so desire). I can't help you beyond saying that's how I did it and I've been playing for weeks without issues
I mean, I obviously have *issues* for simply playing Daggerfall, but I haven't had your gameplay issues

Tried DaggerfallSetup. It's refreshing to see Barenziah and her offspring stopped using white make-up, but the problem hasn't been fixed, and now my music is gone.

Ok, well ...
I haven't had the 'not being able to run in towns' problem with DaggerfallSetup, I'm sorry to hear that you are.
The other issues seem to be for the most part due to dosbox not slowing down your system enough. There's a cpucycles or some such parameter in the .conf file that I used with success in the past to slow down XCOM; it should be the same deal. Are your chops/attacks overly quick too?
