A couple of newbie questions.

Hi.
So I've decided I want to play Daggerfall after humping the brains out of Morrowind and Oblivion for years now. Two quick questions from a total newbie:

1. I'm doing "The First Printing" (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:The_First_Printing) quest in Daggerfall (city). After walking around A LOT I finally found a shop that a thief is in right now (everyone outside claim that he's there). I found a green-hooded thief upstairs, but after slaying him, there was no book on his body. All the NPCs still claim he's there, but the place is otherwise empty (apart from shopkeeper).

2. The Fighters Guild's doors are closed all the time I come by to check them. Am I just unlucky or is it not how you join the guild?

OK, as for #1, it probably means there may be more than one thief. Sometimes they are stuck behind doors. Just make sure to check every room. Also, make sure the book doesnt show up as an item on the ground somewhere after you kill him. If that doesn't work, it might be a glitch and you'll have to not complete the quest and hopefully get it again later on.

As for the fighter's guild, it depends on what time you are showing up. Can't remember their hours but they may not be open when you are trying to visit. Wait around a bit and it might open up.
