I have a problem with Daggerfall on Windows XP plz help

I downloaded Daggerfall off of the elder scrolls website and followed the instructions until i finnaly got the game running. While i was playing the tutorial there wasnt a single problem but once i finished it and got to Daggerfall it keeps getting me stuck on the map. Whenever i click exit on the map nothing happens. If you know why this is happening or how to fix it plz tell me

Please be patient. Not many people play DF, so you aren't going to get an answer that quickly. And don't bump your threads.

Keep in mind that Daggerfall was a very glitchy game. You may run into many errors. I'm not sure If the free version Bethesda released was patched or not. I suggest you look for a patch if it's not already done.

The 2.13 patch comes with the download. If you want to Daggerfall you must patch it - the initial release was very buggy. It's still buggy after patching but is very playable. The second thing is to play the game in DosBox, not windows. Various things don't work right under Windows, ranging from movement, swimming, climbing to NPC AI. For example I tried Daggerfall under XP once for fun - I could move forward but I couldn't even strafe or move backwards!
