How do you join a templar order, exactly? I'm trying to join the Kynaran Order, but I can't find anyone to initiate me into their faction. Most of the Kynrareth temples I've checked, so far, seem to be full of "Temple of Kynarerth" faction members...

Nevermind, I found out how to join them. They're just pretty hard to come by.
Oh, and two Templar Orders have been discovered within Tamriel!
Order of the Hour — The military arm of the Akatosh Chantry
Province: Wayrest
City: Wayrest
Found by: Drakaden (UESP/Bethseda forums)
Knights of Iron — The military arm of the Resolution of Zenithar
Province: Sentinel
City: Sentinel
Found by: Jormungandr (Bethseda forums)
This leaves 6 Templar Orders that have yet to be found. Btw, if anyone else is interested in searching for the remaining Templar Orders, try selecting "Local Temples" when you talk to someone- templar orders will appear listed under that section if one is present in the city.

Ok sorry for bumping this. I recently installed daggerfall - because I had an urge to play it again. (I installed through some program that married it to somethign called dosbox which I don't understand but that is a topic for a different thread)
Anywho... I recalled last time I played I had my warrior charicter join a temple. I'd rather him join the knight version of the temple because it makes more sence... even if it's just in name.
So I've been trying to find if they exist. I gave up last night but decided to try one more search this morning and found this thread.
Problem is you don't have the right one.
Does anyone know where I can find a Maran Knights Templar Order?
And is joining the "order" version of a temple really any different then joining the temple itself?
Thanks much.
(and now that I found this I'll probally bother people with another question.)
Sorry again for bumping a 3 year old thread.

Info on the Factions in Daggerfall:
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:FactionsInfo on the Temples & Templars:
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:TemplesEach Temple commands a knightly order, which can be considered as the military arm of the individual Temple. These templar orders count as Temples, not as Knightly Orders. The services that such an order provides are identical to the ones of the associated Temple. Membership in one automatically applies to the other, so members of Templar Orders may also use the services at the associated Temple and vice versa.

Hi. Thanks for the reply.
I've already seen thouse pages.
I've also seen the quote... So I figured if I joined the knight portion I'd still be able to do quests in the temples.... BUT I guess for roleplaying purposes I'd rather have him join through the knights then the temple... so I was hoping somoene could give a concrete location.
Maybe in the rewrite (or future elder scroll games - I don't know I've only played daggerfall) they can separate the two a little more to make it more of a true knightly order with slightly different quests and more locations.

The Secret Teaching of the Knights Templar certainly discourages the false romanticism one finds in most literary treatments of the Templars today. The Knights Templar, we learn, created its own Church for its own ends, while preserving the appearance of orthodoxy and faithful service. To put it plainly, it served Evil, while pretending to serve Good, and it did so with the connivance of the highest Church authorities.

Would you tell us?
I, personally, am seeking for how to join the Order of the Lily. Set up my base (=bought a house) in the Dibella worshipping province of Koegria but I'm unable to find a member of the Order, temples only. Has anyone found the Order of the Lily yet?

I don't think Drakaden has been back since late 2008, but hopefully someone else can post a solution. I haven't played Daggerfall yet, but it's next on my list, after Arena.

It is still very difficult to find the Templar orders. I find them more often in the southern kingdoms, along with Fighters Trainers (temple version of the Fighters Guild). I have seen Orders of the Hour, and I remember once joining the Maran Knights I think. Not that I still have that character or remember where the guildhouse was located.
Unfortunately, you cannot just ask townsfolk for "where is > regional > any ___" because they are treated the same as the temple and you cannot specify which arm. You can find the Fighters Trainers easily enough since they show up in the Local Temples list rather than Local Guilds. But finding the Templars is, unless you know where one is already, a matter of traveling to random towns and asking the first townie you see about local temples.
