Is it a bad idea to revive this feature?

I see that you havent thought of how much extra work this will give the moderators... And, moderators cant delete users, only ban them, so all in all we just get more work, and no benefits from it.

some may be furry unknown creatures or some maybe sitting on a moon but you have to remember......mods are people too.

You weren't here before the Manditory Registration. Spam got so bad then, that alot of people left. The Forums almost died back then. The Requirement to Register to Post was one of the best things done here.


Also, IP's are not individual. When you ban an IP, you are banning everyone that uses that IP. You are Potentially pre-Banning, Potential Useful UESP Members.

It seems my proposal was flawed from the start.

There is also (as we've discussed here before in the not too distant past) the issue of artificial pressure on new members to keep up their post count.

We have enough spamming from new members as it is, however low the "threshold" it would still cause at least some members to post more than they might otherwise have wanted to do so.

Besides, who is anyone to say that a UESP member is worth less just because they only post a few times? Some v. useful posters have had v. low post counts.

Not to mention the fact that your theory of a min of 10 posts in the first mth would have had Daveh himself banned!!!
