Daveh has just switched to a new database server for the forums, and he is probably shutting the forum down when he installs new updates or something.

When he posted last w/e he said about the connection prob then, seems that it will be an ongoing issue until the prob is found and sorted out:

its strange but sometimes I cant see which threads have new posts in them.

the icon doesn't glow or anything.....it usually only temporary

Daveh is making some upgrades to the server as detailed here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/UESPWiki:Serve ... ugust_2008

He seems to have hit a few problems, and we're getting very low performance on both the wiki and the forums. I'm sure he'll fix it as soon as he can.
