thats why forums have a bold feature when new posts are on child forums

Ok let's pretend for a moment that I am a normal person who doesn't check these forums 10 times a day, and that it's been a whole day since the last time I checked for new posts. Instead of seeing that there are new posts in 4 forums, there are new posts in 12 forums. If all I care about is Oblivion, I've still got to click through 4 or 5 forums to see if there are any threads I care about, instead of just clicking once and seeing all relevant posts.
I don't see the benefit of having things more "organized." Most people play one game or maybe two, but it's not like some people think "I only care about threads that relate to Oblivion NPCs, and I don't want to see any threads that might be about Oblivion quests." No, either they play the game, in which case all game-related posts are relevant to them, or they don't, in which case they want to avoid all of that game's posts. The way that the forums are set up now allows them to do exactly that.
Also, a lot of threads slowly move from one topic to the next. What would you do with a thread that talks about NPCs, quests, and loot? Where would a thread like that go? Would it have to be split into a lot of little threads, just for the sake of organization? Moderating that would be a nightmare.
