You're hand-picked by another moderator. The requirements are that you've shown yourself to be a worthy, decent, kind, honest person that has the time to fully contribute to UESP. Not just anyone can join, it doesn't have to be a rigorous test to past, its showing that you have the necessary character to properly do your job. |

Yes you can click a button and join a user group. For moderators you can click a button to apply to the group. Clicking that button does nothing for you as you won't be given special consideration or approved simply because you submitted an application. As The King said, if the moderators want you they talk amongst themselves on the Moderator forum and should they choose to offer you the position of moderator they'll PM you and ask if you'd like the post/offer you the post. |

I'm not terribly sure if the FAQ has even been updated in the last few years lol. And the Forum template that UESP uses has the usergroup options for any forums that choose to utilize them. |

As Kestral said, our team consists of the site admins (Nephele and Daveh), several wiki admins and us forum moderators. Moderators are chosen as often as needed. We (the forum moderators) discuss it and if we find someone suitable, we contact them. Sure, you can apply, but generally it is us who comes to you. This is being moved and locked before it gets out of hand  Any more questions, we'd prefer pms.
